2 G5/6’s in the CFP.

This should silence the last of the critics of the Hens move to FBS with reasons including not being able to play for a national championship and only getting meaningless bowl games.

Good for JMU. A true trailblazer that developed a bold vision and executed it.

How the hell does Notre Dame get left out??? That is ridiculous…very well could be the best team in the country right now and didn’t get in.

They made the decision to stay with their (very) lucrative independent status, so I don’t feel sorry for them at all. Miami beat them head to head. Alabama, though? Oh well.

It al comes down to money…including the playoffs and bowls. UND wants to keep all of its nationwide audience and TV revenue for itself and not share with any conference, so why are they surprised that the rest of the college football world snubs them? Win at Miami and there would be no need for this discussion.
It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.

Good commentary, Mr. 79.

Based on comments on this message board at least, opposition to the Hens' reclassification is almost nil. I'd imagine that those who were in love with FCS football and refused to recognize the damage it was doing to Delaware's football brand have receded permanently into the woodwork or passed on to the great beyond.

JMU has done well for the reasons you mentioned. They've hired two very brilliant coaches and, you might argue, that's by far the biggest reason for their success on the field. It'll be interesting to see if they can maintain the level of success going forward or fall back to Earth. Succeeding for them won't be for lack of trying.

Now that we've got a little bit of momentum, UD would be very wise to keep the foot pressed firmly on the peddle and not be satisfied with mediocre results, as we have so frequently in the past.

Ok but I’d rather have UD on my resume than JMU
Great example right here with this moronic post. It displays ignorance and what you UD fans are -- ARROGANT. SMH.

I've gotten at least 4-5 jobs in my lifetime, and NONE them were ever because I went to UD.

I would be shocked if JMU brought a lot of fans out to Oregon. I remember when UCONN played OKU in the Fiesta Bowl back in 2011. If memory serves me correctly, the Huskies had to return a number of tickets allocated to them. But congratulations to JMU! They have made the most out of their opportunity to play with the "big boys".

or maybe they lost interest .... Im still a fan but UD aint JMU and never will be. So lets pump the brakes a little. And the post about arrogance is fitting. 6-6 and playing in a bowl as a seat filler isnt really a ringing endorsement.

Why can’t UD be JMU?

I love that you also constantly poo poo a 6-6 YEAR ONE season, as if that will be the standard going forward.

People thought Marshall had the magic elixir for competing at the FBS level when they moved up, rather successfully in the late 90's and early 00's. Still a nice program, but certainly not invincible year to year. JMU will be the same at some point - they hit it big with two coaches, but if they swing and miss on one or more it'll hurt them. UD can get it right and be up there, not an impossible task. Not easy, but not impossible.

Hey BG! Count one that hasn’t “receded into the woodwork. lol

Why don’t folks just quit when they are behind? But doubling down is a sign of the times I guess. And then adding the nonsensical “can’t be JMU”. Why in the world not?

Finally, are you sure you are still a fan?
