Good to hear conference wide - Delaware returns more than just their QB. 6 of their 7 All-CUSA selectees with eligibility remaining, which has to be a conference high

JAX St. receives TEN Million Dollar Gift for Football and Athletics by a Donor.

New Indoor Practice Facility (IPF).

Portions of the story linked below--

"...$10 million gift—the largest in Jacksonville State University history—will help fund the construction of the privately funded football indoor practice facility and support the continued growth of the University's athletics programs.

The planned facility will include an 84,282-square-foot indoor practice facility and an 11,424-square-foot football performance center featuring a weight room and cardio training space. Together, the facilities will serve as a year-round training environment for Jax State Football. The indoor facility will feature a full-length 120-yard synthetic turf practice field, complete with goal posts, catch netting, and a dedicated viewing platform. Designed with a long-span steel gabled framing system and a standing seam metal roof, the facility will be fully climate-controlled with HVAC systems to allow consistent training regardless of weather conditions."

The Sun Belt Conference WILL NOT release its 2026 football schedule in the next few days, as it typically does around March 1 each year, I'm told.

Still working out if La Tech will join the Sun Belt for 2026 or 2027 (Bulldogs would have to pay exit fee to CUSA to join in '26).

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Once again--uninformed media, CUSA does not have a set "exit fee". Big difference.

Departing schools lose two years of league revenue disbursements.

I've gone thru the details here before.

Interesting that with 18M from Sac State and the media contract up for renewal. Seems the MAC could contribute to a team of two exit fees by May 1st. Idk, but more teams, gives ESPN more options and value for a new contract. Do what is the best fit.

North Dakota State, which announced it was moving up to FBS four weeks ago, has its 2026 schedule finalized:

Well, right off the bat we'll get to see how NDSU, in its first year of transition to FBS, measures up against Jax St.

Noticed the Bison also got JSU to come to Fargo first.

I’d say the Bizun will be a 10 point favorite over Jacksonville State inside the Fargodome

Obviously, if the game was played down an Alabama, I’d give Jacksonville state a good chance to pull off the upset

As we discussed Carib, we’ll be watching the Bizon with great interest. Curious to see how they handled the increase in ships especially making the move post portal.

great point Henny!

I have mixed feelings of great respect and deep dislike of the Bizun of North Dakota

It will be interesting indeed to see how they fare playing better teams on a week to week basis…

Prediction that nobody asked for

9-3

From article:

"Recent recruiting: This piece informs us of the caliber of a team's potential replacements (and/or new stars) in the lineup. It is determined by both the past few years of recruiting rankings and the quality of incoming transfers, though as you might have predicted while watching Indiana surge to the national title last season, this doesn't carry nearly the weight that it once did. A decade or so ago, this piece made up about 20-25% of the preseason formula. Now it's about 1-2%. That's pretty incredible, isn't it?"

NDSU won’t miss a beat in their transition to FBS as part of the Mountain West Conference, and will likely be the top team in the conference day one. They have been a perennial top 40 FBS-type program for the past 2 decades and “FCS” in name only. Don’t know what they’ve been doing out in Fargo, but whatever it is UD should figure it out and follow in their footsteps.
