New MBB coach

Post by Onceahenalwaysahen »

Unfortunately I think MI days are numbered. MI is a good person and a good coach, I just think the new landscape in college sports makes it tough to compete when you don’t have the $$ or resources to do so.

Anyway my question is this . How much is MI owed? Who can the hens get to coach that will turn them into a winner immediately?

I have made a list before but my list would be .. no order

Mike Pegues -asst butler
Kenny Blakeney -HC-Howard
Ira Bowman- Assoc HC Auburn
Kamni Young- Assoc HC UCONN
Luke Murry- asst. UCONN
Darian Savino - Assoc HC UCLA
Bruiser Flint- Asst. Arkansas
David Cox-Asst Villanova
Pat Skerry-HC Towson
John Bryant- Asst Chicago Bulls
Jimmy Martelli- asst. VCU

Obviously this list can changed based on high major coaches getting fired at end of season.

The issue is NIL money. We just dont have enough of it to go around. Does it really matter who the coach is? Same challanges of having to rebuild the entire roster every off season when every good player leaves to get paid.

Did basketball get sacrificed for football?

I agree
a new Coach won’t matter that much if he can’t get any talent, but at this point, you have to give somebody else at least an opportunity
recruiting recruiting recruiting...It ain't rocket science....We need better more athletic players...That simple....

Tough, and new times, for sure.

The $ used to come in the back door, for College Football and Basketball. Now, the $ can come in through the front door. Just need to find a way to get it.

UD Men's B-Ball used to be a lot of fun.

UD Basketball power rating from the latest ESPN poll is now 305 out of 365. Do we blame that on lack of NIL money, injured players? It's got to be more than that especially when one of your losses was to Del State the number 357 program and 304 are doing better under the current rules.
