Re: Skolnick lands AD job

The coverage UD would get would be negligible since the paper's readership continues to sink like a stone. It's not endemic to the NJ, sadly. The decline in traditional media is due to a multitude of factors and both the corporations and consumers bear responsibility. The print media conglomerates ...

Re: Fears Confirmed..

'Lazy Recruiting '.......unless someone is familiar with how the Staff has actually been working, handling the Portal from within, and a coach or a qualified evaluator of talent, comments like that just seem like someone with an axe to grind with the Coaches or a Coach. We've ve picked up what appe...

Re: The Odds: New Mexico State

Who needs the NJ when we can get all this great into from the folks on gohens who know all about UD’s finances? But yeah. They mostly talk in generalities with no specifics. So no real help there except building strawmen.

Re: The Odds: New Mexico State

Men’s basketball is the second highest priority sport at UD. If it is important enough within the athletic department and within the university itself, it will be done. If it isn’t, it won’t. This isn’t like someone who just lost their SNAP benefits and their healthcare and have no money in the bank...

Re: The Odds: New Mexico State

They must have found some cash to convince Minicucci and others to stay in Newark. I’m quite certain a school with UD’s resources can make this happen if they are serious about winning. I suppose we’ll find out soon enough once this historically poor season comes to a merciful end in March. For sur...

Re: The Odds: New Mexico State

For the umpteenth time, other universities fire coaches with years left on their contract all the time…including UD. If we can find $5M for the move to FBS, we can turn over some rocks to find some cash to buy out MI. Holding onto a poor performing coach because he or she has years left on their co...

Re: The Odds: New Mexico State

I disagree MI had improvement year after year with a trip to the dance until the transfer portal/NLI blew up. Either we aren’t funded enough to compete or he hasn’t been able to adjust but he either needs to adjust(different style of player) or eventually a change will happen Hens hoops wasn’t fund...

Right HJ. Pretty stupid thread. No sh** Carty isn’t Cignetti. Not many are.
Yep. My first post was my kinder and gentler self in 2026 :D

Re: Coach Cignetti

My impression of Cignetti is that his strong suit is as a game manager who takes the long view of the contest and plans accordingly. He also, along with his staff, makes adjustments as soon as they read the opposition. Carty is not Cignetti nor is his staff particularly adapt at adjustments. Just a...

Re: The Odds: Sam Houston State

Not really looking for an answer, but how can so many 18-23 athletes be hurt at the same time? It is mind numbing.

Re: Fears Confirmed..

Frankly, I am not sure what to make of your posts PB. They are almost stream of consciousness. But I agree with the point I think you are making that is Carty isn’t doing enough in the portal. Some of us were a little surprised there weren’t more for the 2025 season. I suspect those same folks might...

Re: It’s a bad product

Kinda a silly rant ending in an idiotic question. Dropping basketball? C’mon. “Mid major” basketball can be wildly successful, and yes even with an FBS football program. The team stinks right now. Enthusiasm is even lower than the end of Henderson and Ross years. But this can be fixed rather quickly...
