Named pronounced "Neekos Chay-vus"...versatile and speedy defensive back and kick returner at Lakeside High School under head coach Bill Harris...played cornerback and free safety and also returned punts and kickoffs...four-year varsity standout who was named team's Most Valuable Defensive Back three times...named to All-Southeast Region team as a senior and was a two-time All-DeKalb County selection...three-time DeKalb Touchdown Club Player of the Month in his career...named to DeKalb/Rockdale County Super 11 team as a junior...intercepted 19 passes in his career...scored five touchdowns off interceptions and kick returns as a sophomore...had five interceptions as a freshman in 1999, six in 2000, five in 2001, and three in 2002...also posted 54 tackles as a junior and 44 as a senior...also runs sprints and relays for Lakeside track and field team...attended same high school as 2002 Delaware offensive line recruit Blake Anderson...son of Diaz and Katherine Chavis.
