Bonnies

Post by WingT »

It was a beautiful day and finally a chance to see the hens in person and not on video this year.

I can’t say the bonnies were a great team, but it was nice to see some offensive production..

I am a big fan of Deluca and I hope he can turn this into a top 10 lacrosse program. Theres really no reason it shouldn’t be. I like our goaltender and what his future looks like for the next few years. I think our defense needs some fine-tuning, but there is talent there.

What always strikes me in watching teams like Syracuse, Maryland, Hopkins, Duke, and other perennials is their off the ball movement. It is always more brisk and their shots on average are much higher percentage on goal. Take that and some sloppy passing and our team would be much better. Easier said than done. Take three or four positions a game and 3 or 4 ground balls in your favor by better passing and lower turnovers and it’s amazing the difference it makes.

Let’s hope we can get lucky with St Joes but more importantly for a much stronger run in the a-10 next year. If anyone can do it and make us a top ten program it is Deluca.

P.S. is it just me or is the PA system the loudest in North America? Maybe I’m turning into one of those old crotchety muppet guys,

WingT, See dchens' post under "Recruiting" in this LAX Board as to why UD will probably never be a Top 10 Men's (or Women's) Lax program. They could have a shot if they got a lot more scholies and big NIL $, neither of which is likely to happen.
