Early but Hens showing interest in Tre Hawkins from nearby D2 Wilmington. Had 21 in the game against us earlier this year. Averaged 15.9 ppg and 8.3 RPG. Two years left.

The portal period was recently changed. Both portals open the day after the Championship games and run for two weeks.
Men: April 7 - 21
Women: April 6 - 20
Changed to prevent player from entering the portal prior to the end of the NCAA Tourney.

mpwerrell, Thanks for rhe correction. Believe it or not I had your dates in my original draft post, but changed them when I saw the earlier dates. When are/were players allowed to enter the portal? The post above on March 11 about UD's interest in Tyler Hawkins from Div II Wilmington and the link to Hawkins' post on X indicate that he entered the portal sometime ago.

A quick Google look up tells me that Div. 2 players can enter the portal at any time. Try it next time…

MI and this guy started following each other on X. History has shown when MI starts following a player it’s someone that may be committing or at least a serious recruit

Look at our guys thar have entered the portal and the portal guys we've added. Over the years, with very little exception, the # of portal entries is more than 1. Nomads don't put down roots.

Garrett Sundra — 6'11", 230. Stretch four from Notre Dame (Virginia native). Floor spacer and rim-presence; John Camden 2.0 profile.

Izaiah Pasha — (already known).
Jack Robison — 6'6", 198. (Wisconsin)Hasn’t seen much time; comparable to Macon Emory but with a higher upside as a two-way wing.
Greyson Uelemen — 6'2", 185. (North Dakota) elite Shooter and scorer from North Dakota; proven scorer who can add perimeter offense.
Ari Fulton — 6'7", 205. (NJIT)Athletic two-way wing with high motor and glue-guy traits; fits C-USA level physicality.
Reid Carson — 6'10", 239 (East Carolina). Traditional big, interior presence and rebounder — fits as a paint eater alongside a stretch four.
Adam Olsen — 6'8", 225. (South Alabama)Stretch big, proven scorer offensively; defensive limitations but adds floor spacing.
Cornelius Robison — 6'7", 225 (Monmouth). Versatile do-it-all forward; comparable to a budget Jyare Davis — physical and multi-skilled.
Bernie Blunt — 5'11", 180. (Mercyhurst) Pure scorer who gets to the free-throw line frequently; efficiency concerns need addressing.

You get what you can pay for, as illustrated by the stream of good players exiting Newark over the past couple of years.

The CUSA DPOY came from an NAIA school last year. Easier said than done, but there will be plenty of players in all avenues to target

There's an old salesman's adage about trying to sell a product that has a flaw: "If you can't fix it, feature it" From UD's perspective, the product flaw is that we are a mid major with limited funds for player compensation. The feature would be the message to recruits that we might not otherwise be able to land:
"Come play for us. If you play well enough you may attract interest from richer programs (citing our players who have moved on to Pitt, Va Tech, Cal, Syracuse, etc.) No hard feelings - we'll help you move on (or stay) if that's your desire" We'll pay you what we can but more importantly you will play a lot - more so that sitting on a bench with a P4."
