CUSA Women's Championship, Quarterfinal: Louisiana Tech

Post by UD '01 grad »

12:30 p.m. tip tomorrow.

Hens lost to La. Tech by 15 in Newark on Jan. 8 (65-50).

That victory began Tech's current 17-game winning streak, all against CUSA foes.

They looked like a different team today. I give them a Fightn' chance against the #1 seed.

Scott did not play yesterday and will remain out for the season.

The program has taken off full-season injuries on their social media injury reports, but here is where you can see the official one the conference lists: https://conferenceusa.com/documents/202 ... f?id=36871

What is it with La. Tech and their basketball teams blowing out UD! The men received a beat down last weekend and women just got one today! Anyway, glad to see them leave soon for the Sun Belt.

Gotta think Jenkins is gone. At least I hope. Year 4 and pretty poor results.

The A.D. makes them move somewhere I hope. The women’s team won some games, but they definitely had too much of a streak at the end where they looked awful.

The real question should be what do we need to do to get better? And be more on their level, simply more athletic and quick style of play is one observation I made. I’m happy they’re leaving too but honestly, if it makes the conference more weak, it’s not really a great thing!

I guess it all depends on her contract situation. Anything with more than 2 years left and she’s probably staying.

Not gonna' happen. If they don't fire MI, there is no way they fire Jenkins.

2023 16-14
2024 11-20
2025 13-17
2026 13-19
Total 53-69 (.434)

That kind of record is acceptable in basketball at UD.
Can the Hens win CUSA?

Absolutely!

I’m almost certain she’s on year 4 of a 5 year deal. Would be the perfect time. Doubt you want to make her a lame duck coach.

Time to RESET on both programs unfortunately IMO. Interest at a very low level and keeping both Coaches is telling the Fanbase "hey guys, more of the same!". Being at the Bob for a Basketball game has no excitement or juice and it hurts to see it like this.

Bobby Hurley is going to be available soon. Imagine what the excitement, interest level and ticket sales that would come from a move like that if we brought him in.

1) Jenkins needs to go
2) I hope my assessment is wrong but this program will never get back to the EDD era and win tournament games in March. I dont see them ever getting the once in generation talent back to UD
