Coaching Changes

Post by mpwerrell »

Bluehens.com has the 2026 roster up. Currently(at least when I looked)it does not list any of the incoming freshmen but does list the transfers who will be here in the spring.

1.Manny Rojas has added the title of Assistant HC and Safeties coach while maintains his DC position
2.Rocco Dimeco has added Co-DC in addition to his STC and linebackers duties.
3.Garrett Smith has been named QB coach (formerly TE and Assistant STC)
4.Tyler Ferguson has been named TE coach (formerly Sr Offensive Analyst)
5.Xavier Dye , rb coach, has been named Recruiting Coordinator as well
6.Theo Brown has been elevated to Sr. ST Analyst
7.Noah Plack has been promoted to Sr. Defensive Analyst

Did they give Manny more power? I hope they didnt give him a raise as well...he needs the pink slip. [You know I hate the 3 man system].

Perhaps Dimeco’s title adjustment will allow him to have say in the defense. If I am interpreting the information correctly.

Let me also add why havent they added a true special teams coach? Most/a lot of colleges have that coach now days and not someone who has other job duties.

If they increased his portfolio, it almost assuredly came with a bump.

The longer we wait to move on from Rojas, the longer we wait to be a great G6 team.

mpwerrell, I only see the 2025 FB coaching staff at bluehens.com. Do you have a link to the 2026 staff?

Sorry…info was taken down later yesterday afternoon. I guess it was loaded prematurely. But it was there when I posted.

Edit: staff changes posted tonight at 6:52.

No wild rumors about Rojas getting offers from other schools...os, we're stuck with him.

The Peter Principal in full force.

Impressed that a number of you think you are smarter football minds than Ryan Carty and the other assessors of Rojas's performance.

I guess 6-6, plus a bowl win in the inaugural season with the big boys, wasn't adequate.

All that despite having one of the worst defenses in FBS. Just imagine if we had an average defense.

There has been one constant over the past several years...when the Hens have a lead, even a decent one, we all have that nagging doubt that we can hold it. Too many times, we've seen our D give up some atrocious play(s) and end up shaking our heads wondering WTH just happened...again.

Teams with real defenses don't have that constant, sickening feeling that they'll lose the lead. Sure, they might lose to an odd occasional comeback, but a team with a good defense has fans that have confidence that the D will do the job regularly.

Yeah, that ain't us....and it hasn't been for quite some time.

I don't have a nagging doubt. I know Rojas will go to a 3 man rush and a prevent defense that has yet to be successful. Bring pressure not DB's in retreat.
