OL Depth

Looking at the depth chart we have Rosahac 6'6" 310 at LT, Feikia ^'$" 320 at LG, Dembowski 6'4" 305 at C, Burnham 6'6" 340 at RG, and Caccese 6'6" 310 at RT. We have just added Jack Small 6'8" 310 in transfer s. Would this maybe have him at RT and move Caccese back to RG? Looking at our backups Small or Caccese can play either OT, Burnham 6'6" 340 at RG, Methlie 6'3" 315 at C, Telfaire 6'$%' 285 at LG, and Carter Saraeko 6'5" 305 at either OT. Add to this our incoming Frosh Truszowski 6'7" 315, Edwards 6'5" 300, Mudrow 6'5"270, Alvarez ^'4" 285, and Book 6'5"270. Looks like our OL is in good hands! Coach Rodgers should be drooling over the possibilities!

Potential, yes. Depth, I'm not so sure. Most of these guys have never played a college football game--- just names on paper. I would've liked to have seen some experience added from the portal. Maybe more is coming.

There are any number of options on the OL. The Unofficial Depth Chart is just that... unofficial. A lot will change before the 2026 season.

Potential, yes. Depth, I'm not so sure. Most of these guys have never played a college football game--- just names on paper. I would've liked to have seen some experience added from the portal. Maybe more is coming.

And keep in mind that our OL was a bit of a mixed bag all season. Not sure all the returners performed at a solid G4 level.

Tall lineman are a plus in todays blocking technique. Along with height comes long arms. In today's blocking schemes long arms are a plus because so much blocking is done with the hands on the defensive players pad area. Long arms are a plus in controlling the defender.

Back in the old Wing T days Tubby was a master in teaching shoulder blocking. On certain plays the O Lineman was taught to block his man with the right shoulder or the left and where was the best area to apply the block. The thinking was that if every member of the OL did this correctly on each particular play the play would be successful. Along with deception the OL was the key to success. So many of our great RB's of the past were successful because of this blocking system.

Today, long arms is a big plus and most DL will attest to that fact. Of course, strength and ability are still foremost. I still wish or OL could use some of the deception of yesterday. Nevertheless, I appreciate our tall OL in today's game.

agree 72 Hen! Eye Candy creating deception helps big time with the running game and tends to improve blocking angles! The zone blocking schemes today don't utilize shoulder skills in blocking. The power run game requires those skills! Would like to see some of that in our run game!

We have 3 returning starters and brought in Mustafa with 2 years starting experience under his belt. That's not a bad place to start out in 2026.

So much of developing college OL happens behind the scenes in practice since OL don't get subbed out unless injured or we can come up with a few blow outs to get those subs in. Aside from that fans don't really have much insight as to who is ready to take those spots in the trenches unless coaches bring it up. I suspect there are a few fellas that haven't seen the field yet who are ready and fired up for the chance to show what they can do.
