Re: Transfer Portal Open
One has to seriously wonder about the future of college football (and hoops) with this nonsense.

Re: Transfer Portal Open
I really hate the path of modern day college football recruiting where certain school buy the top players in their incoming class.
I can just hear the TV color man announcing the starting lineup.. Starting at QB $3 million NIL. At WR $1.2 million NIL. At LT $.5 million NIL. At RB $.75 million NIL. Now for the defense ............
Don't get me started on kids that enter the transfer portal 3 and 4 times.

UD to FBS. I never thought I’d see the day
Re: Transfer Portal Open
Is Will Knight still hitting the portal every year or is his college career finished? Really wish it worked out for him at UD. He had talent.
Re: Transfer Portal Open
Totally agree...he would have been one of the all-time greats at UD. Really sorry it didn't work out for him in Newark.

Re: Transfer Portal Open
the future of college football is it is already dead. we just cant see it as clearly yet. what made college football great is gone and never will come back and I expect to see a steep decline in popularity in the years to come...between players playing musical schools every year, extorting coaches for NIL money, and the broadening disconnect between the athlete and the school itself, the magic of college sports is in hospice care on deathwatch.....

Re: Transfer Portal Open
just wait for the interviews where the kid says how he grew up in Ohio and always wanted to be a Buckeye....his parents and grandparents were Buckeyes....but Michigan tacked on an additional half million to his NIL and he's now a Wolverine ...

Re: Transfer Portal Open
The schools - particularly those in the traditional power conferences - are largely responsible for the chaos that now reigns by playing their criminally greedy games for decades. Now, the players and their reps are over-correcting way, way too far. Sadly for fans and supporters, there doesn't seem to be much common sense or sanity injected into the proceedings.
This is judgment of Solomon stuff. They're both guilty of slicing the baby in two.

This comment may be censored, but it all is a part of destroying "Americana." This is yet another example of social engineering under the guise of player's rights. Give me a break!

Re: Transfer Portal Open
Come on, friend. No particular party is intentionally trying to destroy college football, and it's not part of some grand conspiracy to wreck the country. Turn off the cable news and step away from the ledge.
Many universities got incredibly wealthy in unfair and inequitable ways for decades on the backs of their so-called student-athletes. The recent action by the athletes and the resulting systems put in place have gone too far.
There will be self-corrections in due time or those who invest money to watch college sports will stop doing so. Patience is needed, though it might be painful to watch this happen in the meantime.
