He’s a joke…sounds like the participation award mentality to me. You know what they say about excuses…everyone has one and they all stink!!!
Re: CAA Tournament, Quarterfinal: Hofstra
It should be an interesting off season. Ending the home season on senior night in front of 1789 doesn’t go unnoticed as does two flops following a lightning in a bottle NCAA appearance from a 5th place team.Udforever1 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 10:57 pm Guess we had an overall record improvement this year, but not much changed from last year in my opinion.
Listening to MI during the post game show last year, I really thought it was a wake up call and this year would be much better. I was fooled. Will be another interesting off season.
This season was almost a rerun of last year. So many holes to fill that weren’t.
The Hens got torched by good guards all the time. It is one thing to have a tough time getting good all around big(er) players in the CAA. But to constantly get get outgunned in the backcourt is inexcusable.
Oh well, a fitting end to a blah season scoring only 58 points and giving up more than the magic number of 70 against a talented, athletic team with good guards. The Hens simply weren’t good enough to be decent CAA teams.

3 things about the season and UD Hoops
1) The NIL is ruining the game. It doesn't benefit UD at all. The rich get richer
2) Coach Ingelsby will continue to lead this squad.
3) What I missed the most this season, The BEST UD Hoops poster didn't post. The most knowledgeable UD Hoops poster and it's not close. But I get it, all the passive digs taken by those who are not as educated in the game. I see the digs continue at me. You show a 15-1 trend and the shots are taken, whatever. We weren't a great shooting team, that was NOT our biggest issue and there are plenty. It was just an issue
Probably my last year after 33 years as a season ticket holder. Wasn't enjoyable.
Opening weekend of March Madness, I will be taking 2 shots to win a Ring!!!!!

Shame to hear that, we too have had seasons since 1999 and I must say this year was one of the least enjoyable.UDPat wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 10:08 am 3 things about the season and UD Hoops

Regardless of how the team played the atmosphere just wasn’t all that great and U doesn’t seem to want to change anything or do anything to try to make it better it’s just the same old same same old sad to see. I agree the NL is a mess I’m pretty sure we’re gonna be stuck with average and the University is going to be OK with that. Especially since we are locked into such a long-term contract, unfortunately I see a lot of 500 seasons on the horizon. We might get lucky and strike gold once in a while.

Well, on to lacrosse and Spring Practice!
Re: CAA Tournament, Quarterfinal: Hofstra
Pat/Henzone…whoever you are. You are certainly a one trick pony. If it makes you feel better, I think every team in the country would win more games if they held their opponents to under 70 points. This team has a number of issues that most of us “non-knowledgable” fans could see from before practice even started this past summer. We never addressed our lack of size/physicality in the post, and we didn’t have enough shooting. It’s awfully hard to play lock down defense every night. Eventually you need to be able to rebound and score the basketball. And we couldn’t do either consistently over the course of the season. And I bet if you hold teams to 60 you’ll win even more games!!!
Re: CAA Tournament, Quarterfinal: Hofstra
And I wonder if teams like Charleston, Florida Atlantic, JMU and Saint Mary’s think NIL is ruining the game???
Re: CAA Tournament, Quarterfinal: Hofstra
Thanks for the compliment, if you truly think I'm Henzone there is no hope for you. But if the both of you are hanging over a ledge hanging on for dear life, you better hope I have 2 free hands or you are SOL!!!!!finpxz1 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 11:25 am Pat/Henzone…whoever you are. As I said there were a number of issues with this Team. All I did was show a trend.
I mentioned a week ago that a Collin Goss adds 4 wins to this team. So I'm not a one trick pony, I have acknowledged the issues and looked at ways to fix the squad as it was constructed. It's called playing the hand we are dealt.
It's easy to say, we need this or don't have that, that's lazy and just complaining, which you are known as the biggest one on the board!!!!!
One trick pony??? Most ridiculous comment ever.

Re: CAA Tournament, Quarterfinal: Hofstra
On the contrary, I would argue it’s easy and lazy to say over and over and over and over that if you keep your opponent from scoring you’ll win a lot of games. And if you really think a “Colin Goss” type player would have fixed our issues in the post, you know even less about basketball than I thought you did.

Charleston definitely has $$$$ the more you make the tournament and more money you get the more notoriety you get The more donors come out of the woodwork.
Re: CAA Tournament, Quarterfinal: Hofstra
Too effing shay!!!! Still smh on the Colin Goss example.finpxz1 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 12:00 pm On the contrary, I would argue it’s easy and lazy to say over and over and over and over that if you keep your opponent from scoring you’ll win a lot of games. I guess seeing Pat’s tag line year after year just hasn’t had the desired effect on others that it does to himself
Anyway, this season is over almost as expected. Plenty of holes to fill like the last two years. We’ll see ….
Re: CAA Tournament, Quarterfinal: Hofstra
And for the record, the “Negative Nelly” that I am is not demanding that MI should be fired. I’m just pointing out the facts that 8 years in to his tenure, and we essentially have a .500 coach (losing coach in conference). If that’s good enough to keep the lights on then so be it. I just feel like we should expect more for the Men’s Basketball program. And if we don’t see significant improvement next season, I do think a change may be in order. Anyhow, just my humble opinion.

Maybe the powers that be may be satisfied with that. The two preceding coaches were underwater. This program lost its shine 24 years ago when Brey left under the worst of all possible circumstances.
