The PA guy was a big improvement IMO and they also played music during the entire scrimmage. Slow start for the Offenses but then things picked up. The QBs were running on the RPOs for sure. Minicucci looked fast and decisive to me

O’Connor wasn’t terribly sharp, but St. Fleur ran hard, and Minucci is really quick…St Fleur looks like a player to me. Both 50 and 56 on defense were injured, although it didn’t look like 50 was seriously hurt. Couldn’t tell about 56 as he went off to the away sideline. I did notice they used a different PA guy. I wonder if “Mr Personality” is gone or if they were just giving this new guy a test run on the mic. Good to see Bilal walking the sideline.
# 56 was Mekhi Carmon from Caravel Academy and he came back in and actually ran down J Silver for a tackle when it looked like he was going to run for a long score. He also played alot of OLB with the 2's.

My main takeaway from the game: The Next Big Thing is.... Matthew McKinley.
Carty will have a very hard time keeping him in Newark for his whole career.

The Blue Rocks were home last night so Linton was there. I am sure he will be back as we are his fall gig for football and winter gig for basketball.

I noticed Placekicker Alex Schmoke is no longer on the roster. He had transferred in from St Francis and kicked the winning FG vs Lafayette in the Playoff game

Not sure, John, but I think his eligibility is up.

Looks like he might have had a year left (redshirt & covid). BUT, he was a grad student & people have no idea how expensive ($1,028 per credit) that is without a full ride! Do any insiders know, what he was getting in “aid”?

NOT everyone is wealthy! If he’s my kid, I'm not paying grad school tuition for another 2 semesters plus summer. (SFU isn't cheap either).

Yeah you might be right on this. He was listed as a SR last year not a Grad student and I thought he had 2 years left when he arrived. Reed kicked well last night and we have Collins behind him

According to an article in the Altoona Mirror prior to the Penn State game last year (Schmoke is from Bellwood, PA, 30 mins from State College), Alex had a year of eligibility beyond the 2023 year.

How did our TEs and LBs look? Did our new transfer TEs (Witthoft and Fauria) play? How did Blake Matthews and Gavin Moul look at LB?

I believe that when the Field House had the tartan floor, UD M/W tennis may have practiced and possibly even played matches there. Once the Field House was turfed, M/W Indoor track (and DE HS Track) also had no indoor facility. Does Baseball still have indoor Pitching & Batting cages in the Field House?
