Does MI even try to recruit HS players anymore or is it 100% portal?
Maybe they are worn down as the season progresses with the starting five playing most of every game with limited minutes from only two players off the bench except in garbage time?bluehens2005 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 8:34 pmWe are actually regressing honestly, no fire in this team ugh

Recruiting is the main reason this season has been underwhelming . Lack of height and outside shooting puts this team at a disadvantage against too many teams . The rotation of only 7 players is ridiculous . Recruiting has to be much better .
Yes, getting a good big man in the CAA is always a challenge, but at least the better CAA Men's Basketball programs are able to regularly do it and often have multiple big men on their rosters who can play. Those programs usually also have more players than UD with height at the Forward positions and also at Guard. Those prograsm usally have more overall speed than UD.gonzo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 10:46 am Getting a good big man in the CAA is always a challenge, but I'm curious about what the plan was for the frontcourt going into the season. Did Ingelsby and Phillips think Houser, Ray, and Davis were enough in the frontcourt? Houser needs to get stronger, and I think he has a good skill set, but right now, he's just overmatched on defense and hasn't found his rhythm in the offense. Davis and Ray both play hard, but they are undersized in the paint.
What was the plan? Because if the plan was to rely on Houser, Ray, and Davis to man the frontcourt, then I don't understand what Ingelsby is thinking.
They don't need a star but they do need big man who has size and won't get pushed around.
Well MI signed Houser out of HS for next season and has at least tow offers that we know of to HS players for next season.bluehenbillk wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 5:29 pm Does MI even try to recruit HS players anymore or is it 100% portal?
Macon Emory is the one signed. They have offered Justin Houser, Tyler’s younger brother, who’s 7’0” and currently a junior. Lets get both set of brothers in hereBlueHenBill wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 6:26 pmWell MI signed Houser out of HS for next season and has at least tow offers that we know of to HS players for next season.bluehenbillk wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 5:29 pm Does MI even try to recruit HS players anymore or is it 100% portal?
It’s been that way for 8 years. Time for a change in philosophy. We have never been a great defensive team under MI and this is a big reason why in my opinion.BlueHenBill wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 5:43 pmMaybe they are worn down as the season progresses with the starting five playing most of every game with limited minutes from only two players off the bench except in garbage time?bluehens2005 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 8:34 pmWe are actually regressing honestly, no fire in this team ugh

Only if they are better than their current sibling. Houston Emory has not contributed especially.UDHoops wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 6:28 pmMacon Emory is the one signed. Wait, so there is 14 players on the roster, 3 walk-ons including Houston? Only 11 scholarship players? ThanksUDHoops wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 10:21 pmHouston isn't one of the 13 players on scholarship. I really don't have expectations that he would be a major contributor. Macon will be, though.bluehens2005 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 10:12 pmOnly if they are better than their current sibling. Houston Emory has not contributed especially.

How did Drumgoole get the extra year? I thought this was his 5th year. (2 - Pitt; 2 - Albany; & 1 - UD)
