Well, I had a great time at my grand daughters bday party. Looks like I missed a real stinker of a game.

Second CAA home loss this season. Hens have lost at least three conference home games each year since MI's tenure began in 2016-17 (except COVID year when there were two CAA home defeats).

MI record in CAA home games: 38-29 (.567)

Perhaps there is a correlation with this and the lack of casual fans that attend - along with stars fleeing for better opportunities after short tenures.

Superior opposition tonight, first and foremost.

Reilly has regressed Davis didnt have his best game. Charleston is deep has many weapons and pretty much unless they happen to have an off night. I see them winning the whole thing.

Since I guess you're not supposed to say anything negative about this team and/or coach on gohens, I think your approach to focus on how well Charleston played is probably well advised. They sure look like the class of the CAA to me.

And maybe this was the last game. There are several rumors they are, or at least wish to, move on from the CAA.

We are not in Charlestons class, as evidenced last night. The are a well oiled machine and anyone that has attended a game there, or the CAA Tournament when it was held in North Charleston can attest to the incredible fan support they have.

It never ceases to amaze me how many Delaware fans, alum, and supporters are just so willing to make excuses and accept mediocrity when it comes to UD Athletics…Football and Basketball, in particular. It feels like Chrissi and the current admin are trying to breakthrough that mindset, but it won’t be easy. Those of us who do make “negative” comments on gohens are oftentimes attacked for being whiners and complainers, and overly critical. I would argue that we truly want to see Delaware reach its potential on the field of competition, which will only lead to positive outcomes for the University and the state, in general. More awareness, more funding, and more engagement with students and alumni. Anyhow, I’m sure I am opening myself up for a barrage of comments, but whatever. I just think we all should start expecting more and not accept status quo as an answer. Go Hens!!!

I don't have a major problem with your analysis, except for the inclusion of "more funding" of athletics. UD's requests for monetary support from fans apparently is falling on a lot of deaf ears (e.g., the funding for the north end zone project that so many want to see and the relative lack of money dedicated for NIL arrangements). In short, maybe we are getting exactly what our fan base is currently willing to pay for. Just saying.

We are going to get what we get from MI. This is year 8. He hasn’t gotten it done. He just hasn’t. We are a 4-6 place team in the CAA with 4 being a stretch.

We all loved the unexpected run a 4 or 5 place CAA team made 2 years ago but that’s been it. Last year was dismal from the get go following up the NCAA tourney experience and this year is meh with a lot of wins piled up against CAA newbie stiffs. If his seat isn’t getting hot, it should be.

I have had several conversations with UD about the NEZ project. My assumption is that they are talking with those who have previously responded to requests for support in order to reach a particular goal before going public for additional funds (and to fit the cost to what they can reasonably afford). Perhaps that's why you have not seen/heard such a request? The intention to do something with the NEZ is not a secret. In any case, the lack of success in raising the needed funding is increasingly apparent with every passing month. Waiting for others (e.g. Taylor Swift's father, Joe Flacco, Matt Nagy, etc.) to pay the tab is not a serious strategy.

I have had several conversations with UD about the NEZ project. I get multiple requests from UD monthly. Each show what I have contributed over the years and none have stated anything about the NEZ. If it is “no secret”, just announce it. Quit playing this ridiculous game about having to line up so many big donors first. UD is going to loose enough FBS momentum and excitement playing the bad (but understandable) schedule this fall. It is time to announce the NEZ project and get on with it.
