Not exactly...MI started with the bigger and tougher comment and then balked a bit at the "deeper" softball from Bill...but just a bit. Regardless, we need to be better in every facet. No one would ever dispute the need for good half-court defense, but if you can't put the ball in the basketball consistently, it's awfully hard to win night in and night out. Even Hickory had Jimmy Chitwood. Just super frustrating that we see the same issues year after year with this team under MI. Hopefully with a few home games upcoming we can start to string some wins together.

Didn’t hear it that way but oh well, not a big deal.

My Blue Hen glasses have us going 9-3 the rest of the way. No reason why we can’t.

Meanwhile, Monte Ross is returning to the BOB with his 4-2, third place NC A&T team. Let’s see if they can defend the out-of-bounds play from under the basket or successfully get the ball across half court against a press. My blue colored glasses say to attack both and find out.

And then people will complain about the lack of community support and fans not coming out to the Bob...seriously??? What's the definition of insanity again???
Eh, I actually liked MI’s comments post game. Harmon tried to throw him a softball as usual and I didn’t feel MI took it. In fact he said no excuses.

My issue is that in year 8 we still haven’t had a dominant CAA type level team, which Drexel appears to be this year. No excuse for that.
That is a pretty big issue UDF. It is mine too. Don’t need a detailed Xs and Os, strategy discussion to know that.

And MI actually finally talked about not doing enough on offense rather than just his usual have to be tougher on D. This team is just limited offensively in addition to being small. They got whipped on the boards today again, 35/24. There is only so much playing great defense, which they way too often don’t play, can overcome being small, not shooting well and just being limited offensively. It is what it is. Fortunately, there are quite a few lousy teams in the CAA and the Hens will should be .500 or a little better and finish in 4-6 place.

You never know what you’re going to get in the second half with this team.

Haha, it’s more about the rest of the CAA than us at this point.

I think we do...inconsistency. It's been Inglesby's identity since he's been here.

And just so no one can accuse me of misrepresenting anything, here are some MI quotes from Delaware Online following the game…

Delaware coach Martin Ingelsby said of Drexel. “I think they’ve got good chemistry and they’ve got depth and they’ve got size…”We’ve gotta be more consistent, better with our habits and we just gotta be tougher,” Ingelsby said. “There were possessions where they were just driving on us or posting on us. We’re letting them get tough 2s, and we weren’t good on the backboard or doubling the post. We weren’t physical.”

That doesn’t mean anything…coaches get fired all the time with years left on their contract. And Chrissi hasn’t been shy about pulling the trigger.

Don’t you think they are focusing all resources on the transition to c-USA. Not sure we have the money to buy out 5 years worth of contract.
They might just be ok with average.

Ughhh

Not that it would have made a difference in the outcome but why on earth is Inglesby getting a technical off a dunk by Lane after we cut it under 10 with 10 minutes left. That just seemed to be a killer.
