Agreed! Love that he’s got that in his arsenal, but we need his low post-game for Reilly, for one, to be more affective.
Such is the case of a mid-major player. He's too small to be a great post player or doesn't have the post skills like a Pegues, not fast enough, or can't shoot well enough to be a great wing. He's a tweener stuck in the middle.

Davis' 3-point shooting percentage has DECREASED each year while his 3-point attempts have increased! He's a career 25% 3-point shooter and the last thing he should be doing is shooting more threes.

Houser on the other hand is the big who should be shooting threes. He's a career 39% shooter while averaging 3.5 attempts per game.

Ingelsby needs to do more High Low sets with Houser and Davis

Position Houser at the high post or top of the key.
Utilize Houser's three-point shooting to stretch the defense.
Encourage pick-and-pop situations with Houser and Trent.

Position Davis in the low post or near the baseline.
Take advantage of Davis' ability to score at the rim with post moves, cuts, and offensive rebounds.

I agree with you gonzo. Good analysis. MI needs to unleash Houser to shoot 3’s and give us another outside threat.

The high-low concept for Houser—Davis is sound. Mix in some zone defenses to keep offenses off balance and give us some more rim protection with Houser in the middle. Houser led his team in blocked shots last season. Houser is not the most mobile big man, but, compared to Painter he looks like Bobby Jones. lol

Houser reminds me of Jerry Lucas; same kind of long range distance shooting and even same push shot form and release. Geez, am I getting old!

You criticized a former 1st Team All CCA Player who was a POY candidate! You mean these types of players also have flaws in their game??? Who would have thought as such???? Interesting. Thank you Sir

Maybe I should rephrase my statement about Davis and three point shooting. Yes it should be part of his arsenal, just needs to shoot less of them IMHO. He seems to have a nice touch from 15-18 feet, and his inside the lane and going to the rim game are very good too. Less dribbling in the post, more decisive going to the basket. He also seems to be a really good passer out of the post back out to the 3 point line, take more advantage of each. I think the CAA is there for the taking. Of course being a one bid league it's always about those 4 days in March at the CAA tournament so we need to work on what we need to get better at while hopefully winning a lot of games getting there.

Davis is averaging 3.5 three point attempts per game. Is that too many?

The games I've been able to watch on TV it's been quite a few more than that, so I can live with 3-4 a game, just wish he could knock a few more of them down sir. Lol

Can’t agree with you more. His first four games he was 6-15 but the last four he shot 2-13, overall 28.5%.

Davis has not shot more than 4 3’s in a game this year. It always seems more when you want him to limit his attempts!
