In terms of trying to determine the new conference for the other sports, this makes the waters even muddier.

No, but I didn't expect that UD would be able to get more than 2 sports (if that many) in one conference once the CAA banned UD from any associate membership.

I thought the coach made an excellent point about the number of teams in the CAA soccer league (10, I think) being a detriment to the team as conference play had to start too early and it eliminated the chance to schedule some higher level OOC games. I'm sure the team benefits more from playing Maryland than it would playing Elon. He also mentioned a three hour flight versus an 8 hour bus ride being less draining - travel wise.
