CUSA MBB Tournament ... Huntsville, Alabama

Direct flights out of DCA (Reagan National)

Whereas the CAA crowns it's tourney champ & auto-bid on the Tuesday before Selection Sunday, CUSA crowns theirs on Saturday, the day before Selection Sunday.

Ingelsby on the move in the Delawareonline article:

“ “It’s a great day for the University of Delaware, Delaware athletics and men’s basketball, too,” he said. “We go from a top 20 basketball conference [in ratings of leagues] to a top 10 or 12 basketball conference.”

Someone else is welcome to look up the facts, but my memory is CUSA has received an at-large more recently than the CAA has.

But realistically in the current environment, we are leaving an auto-bid only conference for an auto-bid only conference.

In other conference news, rumors are that there is increasing support for limiting the Big Ten Tournament to only 14 or 15 teams as the conference expands to 18 teams in the 2024-25 season.

CUSA is significantly better than the CAA. FAU went to the final 4 out of the conference just last year. Understand they are no longer in the league, but even this year CUSA is much stronger top to bottom.

CUSA Men's and Women's basketball tournaments are on the same days in the same arena, which I don't think I've ever seen before. The next results are (after the play-in games) is 2-MBB and 2-WBB each day, and the #1 and #2 seeds have an off day if they keep winning.
