I think the arrangement or next year is that ONE G5 team will be included in the 12 team playoff. How is that determined? I don't know, but I imagine that some committee gets to pick that team. My comment was that perhaps the remaining G5 teams could organize a similar 4-8 team playoff format so that the best we could hope for is not a "one and done" game in some God-forsaken place that we would never imagine visiting otherwise. I hope that clarifies my comment.
I’m awake - UD to CUSA

Phew! Calling the potential to be in the 12 team CFP a “one and done in some God-forsaken place”?????rooneyguy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 9:55 amI think the arrangement or next year is that ONE G5 team will be included in the 12 team playoff. We get it. There are some that don’t like the move. But c’mon. It would be better to just suffer in silence.
Waiting to see the latest KenPom, YouGov, Joe Schmo etc …, etc … ranking of South Dakota State and maybe another score from one of CUSA’s teams with the implied intent being UD really isn’t making much of a move.
Happy New Year!!! Onward and upward for UD football!
Re: I’m awake - UD to CUSA
Calling New Orleans, Charlotte, Albuquerque, and Glendale (bowl locations hosting CUSA) “god forsaken” is not only extreme but highly inaccurate even metaphorically. Sorry you are still not on board with the move to FBS.
Re: I’m awake - UD to CUSA
How I wouldn’t wish for UD to go to the godforsaken Fiesta Bowl against Oregon.

Re: I’m awake - UD to CUSA
Some fans here rather would UD make a deep FCS playoff run with the hopes of a national championship then go to an NY6 bowl and lose badly to an Oregon.
It's a mentality I don't really understand. It's like holding your son back in JV his senior year because you prefer him to be the #1 ranked JV athlete in the country than the #15 ranked varsity athlete.

A home game vs Liberty in Newark for the ‘25 schedule would be outstanding!

Great explanationfinpxz1 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 9:13 amThe new 12-team College Football Playoff field will include the six highest-ranked conference champions, which will receive automatic bids. The top four teams will receive a first-round bye to the quarterfinals. The six highest-ranked teams remaining will round out the 12-team format. The final spot would have been Liberty this year, as the Flames are the sixth highest-ranked conference champion in the final CFP rankings.
Thank you for that!
So is the PAC 2 still a P5 conference ?

It would be nice but prepare yourself for a Blue Hen beat down….. that comment was just from watching the Liberty
game right now so we still have time to get much better
CUSA seems to be a little like the CAA, pretty good at the top but embarrassingly bad at the bottom

I'd rather see a “beat down” then blowing out DSU & that other “slop” that's been on the home schedule recently!Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 1:38 pmIt would be nice but prepare yourself for a Blue Hen beat down….. that comment was just from watching the Liberty

Re: I’m awake - UD to CUSA
45-6 would confirm that. CUSA is not ready for prime time against P4 (or is it P5?) teams and they were the top of CUSA. Yet when watching the CUSA championship game I came to the conclusion that either team would have cleaned UD's clock. PS: I watched as many of the FCS playoff games as I could and concluded Delaware was not even close to almost all of them.Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 8:16 pmWell ok, I might have gotten ahead of myself on LibertyHengrad07 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 4:06 pmI'd rather see a “beat down” then blowing out DSU & that other “slop” that's been on the home schedule recently!Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 1:38 pm

I watched as many as I could as well and I’ll give you maybe the top 8, but outside that I completely disagree.BlueHenBobby wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 10:09 am45-6 would confirm that. Re: I’m awake - UD to CUSA
The quality of your recruits is related to the quality of your competition and the conference you play in.
If the University of _________ plays Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, etc., they get SEC level recruits to come.
If they play Richmond, Elon, and Albany, they get CAA level recruits.
So it's not an apples-to-apples comparison to look at a strong FCS Delaware program, with a very strong CAA roster, and say that we can't compete with CUSA teams; give this coaching staff a chance to go after CUSA recruits and build; this whole situation is strongly analogous to the promotion relegation system in European Rugby and Soccer where the first few years after promotion can be rough until you get the right level roster.
