That is progress.

Another one would be nice. Regardless, we are moving forward in the FCS (or elsewhere).

9 wins folks.

Home playoff game.

Home playoff game victory.

Playing into December.

Lots of injuries…but, darned if Carty didn’t go out and get us some depth that helped us win a game…in the playoffs…at home…with a mighty, mighty, come back led by a freshman QB…who RAN the ball in a couple huge spots.

Players don’t quit.

Kids believe (even if some old fogie fans, and even some younger ones, don’t).

Only Carty’s second year.

Progress. :D
Tubby: 3 national titles, one won on the field, all D2
Keeler: 3 national titles, all won on the field, one as a player, two as a coach, 1 D2, 2 FCS
Carty: 2 on-field national titles, one as a player, one as an OC, both FCS

Carty - get an FBS bowl win!

Nine Wins is a nice accomplishment as we move forward. Not complaint this morning about 2 point plays, RedZone efficiency or other sad grumblings.

Given all the adversity this team has faced during the last month or so of the season, we have to feel reasonably good about where we are at the moment. At this point the Hens are playing with house money. Now let’s circle the wagons and go give the Griz a game. Not expecting a win, but hopefully not a repeat of the last 2 South Dakota State games, either. You have to think the elements will play a huge factor, so a ball-control, run-first offense will likely be the key to a competitive game. Will certainly need to win the turnover battle and pop one or two big plays to have any chance. And the defense has to come prepared to play from the start. We get down 28 to 7 to Montana and it will be all she wrote. Go Hens!!!

The AD has told me more than once that these kids love playing for Coach Carty. That has to be important.

That was a gutsy and awesome comeback by the Hens - all the credit in the world to Carty, his staff, and the players. With all the turnover they had this year, with all the injuries, to win a playoff game like that was a true testament to how improved this program is in just two years. It would be great to make some noise next week in Missoula - we are undefeated there - but there's no doubt in my mind that this program has been reinvigorated under Carty and is on the right path.

Really proud of our guys yesterday. They didn't quit answering with a freshman starting his first game in the postseason like that. That grit and perseverance was great to see.

I second all the posts above. Also giving a shout out to the fans who came (including the Pard contingent) and stayed for the entire game and made noise!
Typically casual fans leave at halftime and there’s usually an exodus at the end of the 3rd quarter (beat the traffic, oh wait this isn’t the Linc).
The hardcore were in attendance on a Thanksgiving weekend!

Agreed.
I've been been pretty pessimistic about this season because I saw it as a rebuilding year. And I think it was.
Delaware has a long way to go to get back to prominence, but we are moving in the right direction.

+1. And we had to wait extra time for the visiting players to leave the field. We waited at the rope line to get to the west side for a long time as they dallied on field and then had some good crying with family and friends at the rope line. We would have diverted around the north end of the stadium if we knew it would take them so long to clear out. Overall, the Lafayette crew was a good one though. They were impressed with Del Stadium. Their team is pretty young and has a good coach, they will continue to make noise in the Patriot.

PS: We could see Wayne’s bright yellow crew at the top of the home stands during the entire game.

77Hen: Our crew made the same mistake leaving the stadium. Had an exceptionally long wait and was considering jumping the rope (consequences for disobeying laws are almost nonexistent nowadays), but it was refreshing watching someone other than us agonizing over a loss. Hope you and family stay healthy this holiday season! Wayne Hanby

It's been an amazing season, hopefully it continues after next Saturday. Coaching college football is a hard job nowadays with the portal and NIL. Getting a team to buy in and perform at a high level, with a ton of new faces, ain't easy. Kudos to the staff! Go Hens!

Agree. I'm impressed by the depth that this staff has developed with a 63 scholarship limit.
To have a QB like #4 waiting "in the wings", and probably a talent in #10 behind him, is amazing. We all remember not having a real QB.
And it doesn't stop with just that position. In the theme of the holiday, I am giving thanks!

Agree Info. It was a small sample size but I actually thought Lipvoski threw a nice ball as well in the St Francis and Hampton games. The QB position is well stocked it seems. For those that love stars, there’s a 3 star with multiple FBS offers coming in next year.

Craziest and best thing about this is, is Minicucci will still be a redshirt freshman next year with the new redshirt rules.
