Current CAA RPI Rankings

Post by finpxz1 »

Stating the obvious, but man we can’t get out of the CAA fast enough…currently ranked 23rd out of 32 Division I Basketball conferences. For reference, the America East is 15, Atlantic 10 is 11, and Conference USA is 8. I sure do hope the Hullihens make this announcement soon. UD Athletics is on the cusp of falling off the cliff into oblivion.

Will be interesting to see when we make the announcement, should there be one this year. Don’t think you’re going to get an announcement during basketball season unless they’ve changed the rules about being eligible for the conference tournament. Or, since CAA football is a separate entity, could we announce that we’re leaving CAA football while playing dumb with the winter sports and not announce that until after their season is done?

It will be interesting, for sure. Admittedly, I don’t really understand all the implications around the timing of any announcements. In the very least, it would be comforting to hear something more formal from the Administration. Something like “we are evaluating our options” and/or “considering potential FBS Football and/or conference affiliation”. Just to give all of us something other than rumors and innuendos.

interesting "take"/interpretation on football ONLY leaving now that we're in the playoffs.- clever :D If so, the FBS decision should be made after the conclusion of our game today. We better win for that to happen if it even will!

I believe a change is coming, but timing is everything and now is not the time to announce such a move. The CAA has proven itself to be vindictive in the past.

The CAA is no longer a mid-Major conference with all of the departures and the addition of some very weak teams. The combined record of the recent additions is 9-18 so far this year… We need to get out of the CAA immediately.
