Hens end Rider’s 11 game win streak, winning 18-2. 40 runs in two days. Hopefully saved some runs for the weekend.

Threw 21 pitches Sunday and another 21 today. Would have most likely thrown that in a pen today anyway.
Exactly - every pitcher that throws over the weekend will throw a 20-25 pitch bullpen midweek…

I get him throwing a pen but its huge difference to throw pen session verse a game situation. A lot more energy and adrenaline goes into a game situation. Most pens they are throwing at 75-80-85% velo

Not really or necessarily- it depends. I don’t know what kind of pitcher Velasquez is. What you’re describing is what is called a “touch pen”. Some guys throw touch pens and some go full tilt. Why I mentioned what kind of pitcher Velasquez is…if he’s throwing off speed or junk there really is no to little difference in what kind of pen you throw- you’re not throwing a touch pen on breaking balls - you throw that at one arm speed only. Some guys may throw a whole pen on trying to work on off-speed movement and location. Face it at the college level 90% of the kids have fastballs that play, mixing and locating off speed separates good versus average arms.

Tough one this weekend against first place Northeastern. Come in 25-7 and sit right outside the top 25 in a few polls.

Hens were up 8-6 in the 9th today with Northeastern down to their last strike and end up losing 10-9. Hens have scored 17 runs in the 2 games against the conference leader and have nothing to show for it.

Took 1 of 3 this weekend; pitching got hit around and the offense tried to keep them in the games.

Ludman has been good for this lineup now that he is playing most of the games. Still dont know why August is coming in on Friday instead of either starting Friday or Saturday.

Hens broke a program record with 10 home runs Sunday.

Right now, Delaware gets the sixth seed in the playoffs. Lets hope they can finish the final month strong and get the 4th or 5th seed.

Getting Dunion back from his wrist injury and Velasquez up to speed on the mound would help.

Four upcoming series with teams below (or in Stony Brook tied with) the Hens in the CAA standings. Need to go on a run here.
