3 teams - Charleston, UNCW & Northeastern are virtual locks to make the CAA tourney. 4 teams are fighting for the remaining 3 spots - Hens, Stony, W&M & Campbell. Hens hold the tie breaker vs. Campbell but not against W&M.

Hens have 4 series remaining - 2 against the bottom teams (Towson & Monmouth), 1 against their direct competition (Stony) and they finish the season at home vs. conference leading UNCW.

Hens were 24th in the country with 61 HRs coming into the weekend and slugged another 10 in 3 games vs. NC A&T so will likely be in the top 15-20 but as usual their pitching is their achilles heel

Ive been saying it all year long ....our D2 and JUCO pitchers arent cutting it at this level. Crazy that pitching has been problematic year in and year out without anything changing.

I thought with Sherm and the old guard going out, we would see change. I know its only been year two with Mams but changes just arent happening.

As I understand it, UD currentluy has at least 3 pitchers who are injured and cannot pitch. I believe that they would be among LHPs Tawa, Balzano, & Bruan (all Fr) and/or RHPs McLaughlin (Fr) & JUCO Lewis (Jr). One or more of these Pitchers may just not be ready and may be redshirting. Then there Tyler August who was justifiably highly touted but has yet to live up to his billing.

August is proof that you can dominate in high school but doesnt necessarily mean you will in college.

I believe I read that this weekend series at Tow is going to free streamed on Flo Sports YouTube, Facebook page [maybe other platforms as well]

3 game set at Towson this weekend. Hens could really use a sweep.

The Hens do in fact sweep. Move into 4th in the CAA after Stony lost 2 of 3 to Monmouth.

Great weekend for the boys!

Mams still trying to figure out the pitching [another weekend, another rotation and starters] but the offense is keeping them alive and streaking.

And Stony Brook’s #1 left the game early Friday - one of the top arms in the CAA, will see in a few days if it was serious.
UD to FBS. I never thought I’d see the day

Not ideal. Hens get swept in a DH to Monmouth.

Losing 2 out of three hurts. Huge weekened against Stony at Stony. Currently the Hens are the 4 seed and Stony the 5th; def need a 2 out of 3 this weekend

Big series win against Stony, winning 2 of 3. Hens could clinch a CAA tournament berth depending on some other results today.

Stony Brook’s ace, Eddie Smink from West Chester, PA, was injured recently and did not pitch in the series. He throws a 94 mph heater and beat #23 LSU this year, 5-2. That injury was balanced out by us losing our returning ace, Bryce Greenly, early on for the entire season, although his bat is still in the lineup. It would be good to get J Dunion, who has the highest batting average on the team, back for the final series and hopefully the playoffs.

Delaware is now in 4th place heading to the final homestand again UNCW. I think they could fall to 6th or even out of the playoffs if they get swept.

Yup, 4 teams fighting for the final 3 spots. 1 win this w/e against 1st place UNCW guarantees the Hens a berth in the conference tournament and they can finish as high as 3rd place.
