Bad night for the CAA as they go 1-4 and the only win being UNCW against a NAIA team.

Drexel was close but every other team lost by double digits.

Truly a bad start to the season for the CAA. You could argue that other than Charleston beating Iona, UD has 2 of the best non conference wins in Bucknell and Air Force…which really isn’t saying much. Hoping that we take care of business against DSU tomorrow, and then get at least 2 wins in the Bahamas!!!

Princeton is 3-0 with road wins at Rutgers, Hofstra and Duquesne(who smacked Charleston).

Will be a very tough home game late December

Charleston Vermont on ESPNU right now. Former Hen Veretto playing for Vermont.

Veretto Led Vermont with 18 pts and 5 boards and a 11 pt win.

Charleston off to a 1-2 mark, granted a much tougher schedule (Iona, Duquesne, Vermont) then what we have played.

UNCG takes down #14 Arkansas.

They are a potential 2nd round opponent next week in Bahamas for us.

Charleston almost looks mortal so far. With yesterday’s loss to Wyoming, they are now 1 and 3 and have the same number of regular season losses as they did all of last year. And looking at these early results across the entire CAA, it certainly feels like UD has a chance to make some noise in the conference. Now let’s do some damage down in the Bahamas.

Made a bit of a recovery with the CAA able to pull off 3 wins today as Charleston beat Costal, Drexel pulled one out over Queens, and Northeastern taking down East Carolina.

UNCW with a comeback 83-81 overtime win over Murray State in the Fort Myers Tip Off. Phillips had 19 for them, 8 of them coming in OT. Harden-Hayes scored 23. They play again against Appalachian State today.

Northeastern lost to Kennesaw State 79-77 in the TowneBank Holiday Classic after beating ECU 82-76. Luka Sakota with 23, Doherty with 12 and 10 boards, Rashad King had 18 points off the bench. They play Georgia Southern today, who is 0-2 in the round robin between NE, ECU, and Kenn. State.

Hampton took a beating 71-52 to wrap up their play in the US Virgin Islands Paradise Jam against a strong San Jose State team. Joshua Lusane had 17. Playing them and Kent State were two good opponents, even if the result didn't go their way. They did finish 1-2 with a win against FGCU.

Stony Brook avoid a sweep in the Cornhusker Classic in Lincoln, NE with a 55-48 win over Rider, who we'll see in a month in Newark. A low-scoring affair, Stony Brook is led by Aaron Clarke with 13, shooting 0-6 from 3. Stony Brook got pounded with 20+ point losses to Duquesne and Nebraska, as expected.

Campbell with a 78-75 OT loss to NC Central in the Creek Classic, a tournament hosted by them. Anthony Dell'Orso had 25 for them. They will play Idaho State and The Citadel in the next two days.

Hofstra in a familar tournament... The Gulf Coast Showcase. They win with ease at 102-68 against Buffalo, a MAC side who isn't what it once was. Darlinstone Dubar had 30, Tyler Thomas with 21. They will have a pretty solid test against Wright State who is similar in KenPom rankings today. Winner will face the winner of Illinois State/High Point.

UNCW getting their doors blown off by App St. Some of their fans had already anointed them CAA champions after Charleston’s bad start.

Until we play someone of substance (probably 2nd round in Bahamas) I’ll hold off saying we should be contenders because I have no idea.

UNCW got their butts handed to them today. 86-56 to App State. They looked very lost in the second half, vulnerable after the OT game yesterday.

They were up 34-33 at the half.

Hofstra holds on 85-76 against Wright State. Impressive win via analytics. Here’s my con on them… here’s what they set their rotation:

Tyler Thomas 40 minutes
Darlingsone Dubar 40 minutes
Jacco Fritz 36 minutes
Jaquan Carlos 34 minutes
Bryce Washington 26 minutes
Kijan Robinson 20 minutes
Silas Sunday 4 minutes

Running a 6 man rotation in a Thanksgiving week tournament, how are you going to set things when the CAA tournament begins?
