Carty to finish his radio show tonight..

“I won’t coach speak you, this is a big one.”

Fired up for Saturday. This program needs to do something it hasn’t done in a decade and get a big win. Just wish the weather was nicer as it’ll probably keep the average fan away.

Weather, smeather. Even this old fart is ready for football. Doesn’t get bigger than this in the FCS.

Well, truth be told, MSU/SDSU was bigger than this weekend. So are many other Top 10 FCS match ups.

When we get ourselves into the top 5 and play someone else of note, we can say we are back on the national scene. Until then, we are simply trying to be more than “relevant” in the CAA.
Tubby: 3 national titles, one won on the field, all D2
Keeler: 3 national titles, all won on the field, one as a player, two as a coach, 1 D2, 2 FCS
Carty: 2 on-field national titles, one as a player, one as an OC, both FCS

Carty - get an FBS bowl win!

If I wanted to lay long shot bet on a title contender right now I’m going with Holy Cross. The Sluka factor is real and something that might catch the oddsmakers by surprise. High Risk futures market bet

Obviously the the low risk low return Treasury Bill safe bet is still South Dakota State 5.4 % and rising

North Dakota State has slipped a bit but still a threat until slayed

Montana State is the Phil Mickelson of FCS

If Sluka is healthy, nobody wants to play Holy Cross and if Chesney is as smart as everyone thinks, he will be gone the first opportunity he gets because once Sluka is done winning won’t be so easy

Would that be Brock’s win at JMU?

I think Rocco had some big victories in 2020 Spring. nova at nova, Sacred Heart home playoff victory and beating JSU on the road. That gave us some false hope, but that was fun.

Henzone wrote: Wed Sep 20, 2023 3:47 pm You must be talking about the defense that has consistently, for the past couple years, allowed our good opponents to run the ball right at us while keeping possession of the ball (thus keeping our offense off the field...which results in lower scoring from our offense) and controlling the clock, right?

UNH has only 9 more plays then the Hens but 5 TD's and 200 total yards more.
Well at least one of those plays was kind of a fluke, Cent Michigan game. The play was the UNH QB was being sacked and he kind of flipped it to Laube who went 80 yards untouched for 6 … in the 4th quarter same thing, 71 yard TD pass to Laube.

He’s a RB that had 290 yards receiving in that game, most all of those yards were YAC

Dartmouth made him work for his 180 yards rushing, took him 33 Carries, toss in another TD where he lined up as a WR

QB Brosmer has great chemistry with him and always knows where he is

I hope you enjoyed that 48 yard TD to Wimberly and how his talent turned our game around real quick, good coaches know that talent makes them and average plays look good!
It’s good to know Carty understands that.

Game notes are up but apparently Ryan is not interested in updating his depth chart for us fans.

Crappy weather, game is on TV downstate.
Over/under for actual crowd size in attendance Saturday night? I'll go with 4,500. Thoughts?

Another day and another post by HZ trying to nitpick Carty. Where was this daily negativity during the lost decade under Brock and Rocco? Does it take more energy to be a lapdog or to be a bitter old man? Ever try to return soup at a deli?

Shame, it was supposed to be Band Day as well - always a festive affair. Might end up looking like a wet version of that crazy cold UNH playoff game back in 2010.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they re-schedule this game, these kids might get wet …. Seriously though, I’m sure they don’t want aging boomers out trying to drive to the game in a Tropical Storm … Drive Safely everyone

I, for one, like to look at the depth chart to see if it is updated. Gives me an idea who is available and who isn't. I also miss when our Notes used to have the opponents depth chart along side ours.
