This should be the concern going into this game. Good running teams have been able to have their way with us in the Rocco/Cosh/Rojas era. Are we getting Hunter back? Could we see a 4 man friend with Hunter and Brogna in the game at the same time? We are going to have to do something different on defense to slow the run game down or we are going to be in trouble in this one. Our weakness is power running against our defense and 3 and outs on offense keeping our defense on the field resulting in further fatigue against the run exacerbating the problem. With this offense defense combination, a lopsided TOP is likely against good running teams leading to destruction in the second half.

Here's some real numbers regarding our defense against the run............ 3.8 ypc allowed in 2022, 2017 & 2012 . So there is not a difference in the scope of 10 years.

As for the difference shown by UNH in their game plans the last 2 weeks. There was a continuous 30 MPH wind last weekend .

Yup. Northeast wind 10-20mph (higher gusts) will accompany the wet weather in the evening. Better get the running game in gear.
Tubby: 3 national titles, one won on the field, all D2
Keeler: 3 national titles, all won on the field, one as a player, two as a coach, 1 D2, 2 FCS
Carty: 2 on-field national titles, one as a player, one as an OC, both FCS

Carty - get an FBS bowl win!

with the weather forecast the lack of a 220+ rb might hurt us. Wet conditions often make it difficult for a speedy rb to make quick cuts, but the OL should benefit Saturday. Maybe mother nature will be kind to our Blue Hens
really looking forward to meeting up with a solid FCS team so we can judge our team's progress at this point in the season.

No it just popped right in after reading about the weather forecast

By the way, Carty has ditched that crop duster sweep we used to run a few years ago.

I have some vivid memories of seeing slow sputtering yellow planes flying right at the house just above the corn stalks and lower than my upstairs bedroom …. Pilot had to pull up at last minute to avoid hitting the house

As for the game, it’s hard to put into words how big this game is so I won’t…. We get it

New Hampshire has to travel, has to play in bad weather, and they should be facing a pretty fired up Blue Hen team with some dangerous skill players to deal with.
UNH, minus the Jiffy Laube, really doesn’t look like world beaters to me. Delaware can certainly beat this team but it’s probably gonna be a wet and wild type of game…. Hold on tight for a last second FG to win it

There is a weather model that says the rain will end around 7pm in Newark, DE. Wind will still be there.

Several other models say it will rain all game.

In any case, the passing game looks to be limited. Caribbe…winds from the NE…gotta’ be kicking that FG towards the Bob.

Oh, the winds are forecasted to be blowing harder during tailgating time…15-25 with higher gusts…temps in the 60s.

Bundle up, folks.

So the refs frown on hitting the returner after the fair catch has been signaled but before the ball arrives?

IMO, we have a very good run game ourselves. I will be disappointed if our gameplan is to throw long passes down the sideline. Control the clock on a wet field.
