Phillies

Since the Barnyard has expanded beyond Blue Hens related stuff…

Important win today after the shitz the bed last night. Lorenzen went 8 strong in his Phillies debut.

The team has so much talent but they haven’t got it all to click yet for a variety of reasons. I hope and think they will and it will lead to a long playoff run.

Really liked what I saw from Lorenzen yesterday. Not flashy, just gets outs. You’re right 79, in a playoff spot right now and things feel like they’ve far from clicked so far.

Wednesday was about as tough a loss as a team can have all year. Really need to take advantage of this 10 game home stand coming up with the Royals, Nats and Twins. Time to separate a bit.

Watching the Phillies at Twisted Iron…listening to the Flat Moon Society. Really solid band!

Nola starting…gets yanked. 7-5 Royals in the 8th.

Great music…great beer (although the West Coast IPA keg just kicked). Not-so-good Phillies performance, so far.

What can you do? :D
Tubby: 3 national titles, one won on the field, all D2
Keeler: 3 national titles, all won on the field, one as a player, two as a coach, 1 D2, 2 FCS
Carty: 2 on-field national titles, one as a player, one as an OC, both FCS

Carty - get an FBS bowl win!

7-5 final.

Not in Phillies favor.

That’s OK. Band tried to play Gordon Lightfoot request…gave it a good try, then had fun when the effort collapsed. Skill set wheelhouse was The Eagles…and the lead singer did Led Zeppelin well. She was awesome. Base player did a good Johnny Cash.

Blue Hens BBQ served food outside. Tasty. Great brisket (some of the best in the area). Limestone Bourbon and BBQ is still the best brisket in our surrounding area.

Hope BHBBQ gets a food truck…some food was served a bit less than warm. Fun staff though, and the pit master had his flavors down!

Sad that the Phillies lost, but a fun evening without the win.

Oh, the Blue Hen BBQ pit master was a UD grad.

Go Hens!

What a special night at CBP. Lorenzen no hitter. Wilson home run in his first ever at bat.

Yep.Great night. The family being there for Lorenzen and Wilson was really thrilling. Things starting to come together for the Phillies. Goal now is to have the number one wild card and host the first round at CBP and go from there.

Starting to go onto a run now. Hitting getting contagious, Turner waking up and Castellanos finding the swing again

They are smokin hot. Starting pitching also going deep and bull pen coming around. Stay hot and healthy and I’ll take their chances at making another WS run.

Yup, stay healthy and they should have a run like they had last year. Be nice to win the last game this time around, but last year was still fun - hope it is fun again.

Two tough loses in a row with two bullpen shitz the beds and a brutal error after clutch come from behind late home runs. Need to stem this quickly and not let it build into a losing streak.

Another game that they come back to tie in late innings just to give it away. One of us has a better chance to come up with a clutch hit than Realmuto does.

Getting a little concerned with the pitching now. Few quality starts and the bullpen has been really shakey. I don’t really trust any of them now. It is hard to win every game 8-7. And even harder in the post season

For sure, 79. Not a recipe for winning in that post season at all.
