DI Mens Quaterfinals at Del Stadium

Post by 77HEN »

There will be some good lacrosse occurring at Del Stadium on Sunday, 5/17. Top seed Princeton should be there and other seeds from the section of the bracket include Penn State, Virginia and Richmond. Army, G’town or Duke could be there if they pull off upsets. CAA’s Stony Brook (not Towson) would need a miracle to beat Princeton if it wins a play-in game. A great chance to watch some awesome lacrosse and see how top programs roll.

Stony Brook lost the play in game to Marist 10-6. Ooof for the CAA. Marist is fodder for #1 Princeton.

Jacksonville (yes, their guys) won their play in game against Robert Morris and will play #2 Notre Dame.

Disappointed that Richmond didn’t make it into that group. The weather forecast looks awesome for the day.

Top-seed Princeton tops Penn State 14-10.

Duke leads Georgetown 6-1 with 7:01 to go before halftime.

Looked like a decent crowd during first game. Haven't seen a crowd shot for second game.

Semis and finals next weekend at Virginia.

The stadium was about half full, I’d say approximately 10K present. The players didn’t have slipping troubles on the Del Stadium turf like they did up at Hofstra yesterday. The teams that played today are very talented. Princeton took control in the 4th quarter of an entertaining game. Hoyas did not come out ready to play.

I wish they could find a way to put up some game stats on the big board during the game.

Well, I guess new is not always better - not initially at least. The crowd seemed mostly happy at Del Stadium. They opened the air conditioned club area to all due to the heat (I suppose).

The first game was a good one. Glad that I left after it.

Good for Princeton.
