Everything starts on the OLine and the Dakota schools have closer access to top OLine talent than the Hens do.
If you have massive holes to run through and all day to throw, the other talent fills in from there.

Followed by possible arbitration if necessary. An arbitrator can settle the matter so everyone can move on.Bluewyn Gold wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 1:21 pm LA Tech & CUSA going to mediation 4/8.

I post very similar stuff like this on the CUSA board and get a few smack downs for it …. A bit much FCS bravado for me type of replyfinpxz1 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2026 8:46 am NDSU won’t miss a beat in their transition to FBS as part of the Mountain West Conference, and will likely be the top team in the conference day one. They have been a perennial top 40 FBS-type program for the past 2 decades and “FCS” in name only. Don’t know what they’ve been doing out in Fargo, but whatever it is UD should figure it out and follow in their footsteps.
But personally, I don’t disagree with what you said at all but whether our opinions prove to be true is another story
It certainly will be interesting
recruiting recruiting recruiting...It ain't rocket science....We need better more athletic players...That simple....

La Tech and CUSA have reached an agreement for them to join the Sun Belt on July 1. Formal announcement and maybe revised football schedules later this week.
UD to FBS. I never thought I’d see the day

Paying supposedly $8 mil or more to get out
UD to FBS. I never thought I’d see the day
Re: CUSA Football general news, info, Etc....
Which would be a FULL capitulation on LATech’s part. That is what the agreed exit fee with penalty was everyone signed after the SoMiss, ODU and Marshall exits.
UTEP, which met the required notification period paid something like $7m.

Exclusive: Louisiana Tech will pay a C-USA record exit fee to leave the conference and join the Sun Belt, FOS has learned.
The fee is MORE than the $8 million UTEP is paying to leave and join the Mountain West ahead of the 2026 season, sources say.
****************************************************************************
UTEP paid about 8 Million.
Tech will pay "about" 8.5 to 9 Million.
That's the Total. About half of that will simply be from the 2025-26 Revenue distribution which will be Withheld in late June--2026.
******************************************
My (IMHO) estimate is that each remaining CUSA school will receive an extra 1.6-1.7 Million over a 2-3 year period from June 2025--June 2027. Delaware and Mo St. "might" receive slightly less and the other eight slightly more than 1.5--1.7 Million.

Re: CUSA Football general news, info, Etc....
If there’s an equitable distribution for UD, that would just about cover the cost we paid to CUSA for admission.
The rumored settlement seems fair. So, we should expect the revised CUSA schedules to hit soon, since it was reported earlier that the conference had the alternate schedule ready to go.

Well, well, well...as jd mentioned, La Tech went right back to reality. You sign a contract...and...surprise...a court makes you live up to the terms of the contract.
Whodda' thunk?
As Moses Malone would have said, "Mo' Money Fo' UD."
Happy that is settled. Can't wait for the final 2026 schedule to officially be released.

So La Tech will be replaced by an away game at either WKU or Sammy?
Re: CUSA Football general news, info, Etc....
Yep, it will be either Sammy or WKU added. There also needs to be a reshuffling of everyone’s CUSA schedule to make all this work so the dates and whether it’s home or away are subject to change from what has been released prior to this decision.

Why is CUSA not releasing a revised schedule? Let’s get on with it!
UD to FBS. I never thought I’d see the day
Re: CUSA Football general news, info, Etc....
Agreed - we were told they had two schedules, one with and one without LA Tech. They knew earlier this week that LA Tech was out the door (and had to pay up) so get the schedule released. People plan around the football season well in advance, this holding back the schedule now is just poor form on the conference's part. Get it out there, should be next Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest (and should've been this week). Let's go!bluehenbillk wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2026 6:43 pm Why is CUSA not releasing a revised schedule? Let’s get on with it!
