Would you support renaming Delaware Stadium to (Fill In The Blank) Corporate Stadium?

Poll ended at Fri Apr 17, 2026 7:55 pm

Yes, of course. It's just a matter of time so make it now. We need players and that means we need money. Get it any way we can.

Yes, but not until Ohio Stadium and Michigan Stadium do it. Keep it Tubby Raymond Field no matter what.

No, but I won't be surprised if it happens while I'm still young/healthy enough to attend games.

No, of course not. Black uniforms are one thing but this is a bridge too far. We've already proved we don't need this to have a winning program. Keep some traditions alive.

Poll: Corporate Sponsorship

Would have included Bob Carpenter Center in this but figure that is a forever naming rights situation. Not sure though.

Get some money but keep Delaware in the stadium name some how. What are the big corps in Delaware that would be a candidate? Could be NAME at Del Stadium or something like that. Let’s find a donor who can support at a sufficient level (whatever that is).

Ohio Stadium's playing surface is Safelite Field. It's printed on the left 25 yard line of each side (opposite the B1G on the right) and also on the field goal netting. There are creative ways to squeeze a buck and maintain tradition.

If we rename the stadium then use the money to improve the stadium like the Whitney Center did.

I say yes, don't like it as a traditionalist , but that's the world we now live in. But keep Tubbys name on the field.

UD athletics and particularly football and baseball—heck, the entire university, the media, and much of the state—were owned, operated, and guided by a single corporation for decades. They might not have slapped their red oval corporate logo on stadiums, uniforms, etc., but the branding was very much implicit and very real. Nothing new under the sun, my friends.

unfortunately, we've been late to the party(SOP) in this regard. DuPont( I purchased some stock back in the early 70's which I still retain as probably many others here) was the obvious choice for years though they now have downsized with several spinoffs(Corteva and Dow recently and previously Chemours). Hopefully Skolnick will find a corporate sponsor sooner than later for football. Remember the early bird gets the worm! Finding one for our feeble basketball teams would appear nigh impossible presently. Our view is still myopic for a flagship university in adjusting to the New Normal that has evolved for collegiate athletics.

Don't think they'd be able to come up with a solid enough donation...although their pizza could surely grease some skids.

UD burned some bridges with a few of the local corporations...we'll have to see if the new administration has a softer touch when trying to attract donations from the larger businesses.
It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.

I think I heard our new president is a whiz at fund raising. Not sure where I heard that, though.

I hope that any renaming og DE Stadium (which I hate but recognize the need to do so) would be for a lot of money and not forever but a defined number of years.
