Re: La Tech Suing CUSA
Louisiana Tech needs to pay the $5.5 million, the terms they agreed to after the Marshall, ODU & So Miss departures, or play a CUSA schedule in 26-27. It’s really that simple.
Judge refused to issue a temporary restraining order on LT’s request and ordered both sides back to his court on March 19.

Re: La Tech Suing CUSA
CUSA responded in August, noting that the league bylaws had changed since that 2022 realignment, including a 2023 grant of rights agreement, all of which Louisiana Tech signed. Its letter additionally claimed that fellow departing member UTEP has followed the agreed-upon timeline and forfeited two years of conference distributions. CUSA asked for Louisiana Tech to forfeit the same, which would amount to around $3.8 million for the 2024-25 distribution, along with an $825,000 late notice charge, marking more than $5.5 million total.

At this rate you have to wonder when we will get a 2026 schedule.

March 19th hearing
Plus, a couple of weeks for the judge to write his opinion.
We are well into April before we know squat.
Terry Bradshaw needs to pony up for his alma mater.

When a school puts the CUSA teams in this situation do you really want them to come back for another season?

Bill...here's an idea....pay the fee YOURSELF and then share pertinent info with the group instead of your usual expectation of everyone else to do your homework for you....BlueHenBill wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2026 5:45 pm If anyone has a subscription to the NY Times you can access the article at the link below and share info with those of us who don't.
Re: La Tech Suing CUSA
CUSA doesn’t want them back. They just want to make sure they get the fees that was agreed to when you announce plans to depart to another conference.

Re: La Tech Suing CUSA
I was confused because someone posted that the CUSA has two scheduled prepared. One with them and one without them. If that is true the schedule without them should be released.

Baltimore Hen, I did my homework in finding the story & posting the link here. Many posters post links to which they and/or many board members do not have subscriptions. If a board member already has a subscription they can choose to post the info or not. I am not going to subscribe to any publication that I do not have time, or choose not, to read. Meanwhile, all you did was criticize me and add nothing to the discussion.Baltimore Hen wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2026 8:16 pmBill...here's an idea....pay the fee YOURSELF and then share pertinent info with the group instead of your usual expectation of everyone else to do your homework for you....BlueHenBill wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2026 5:45 pm If anyone has a subscription to the NY Times you can access the article at the link below and share info with those of us who don't.

Good comments about fans invested in Group of 6 schools who "are at the mercy" of the television networks.
Super league also framed as "inevitable" here.
Re: La Tech Suing CUSA
Just saw this: CUSA has countered the UL System/Louisiana Tech's lawsuit from last week, filing to federal court in the Western District that the lawsuit be dealt with in federal, not state court. Thus, the hearing set for this Thursday will not take place. Expect an appeal from Tech.
