Re: Houser
Man can we hopefully learn a lesson and get a deeper bench for once ? Jeez every year but this takes the cake. They were doing welll gelling despite limited rotation ans now it will be tough to win another game…what a shame …
Re: Houser
Was there any mention of surgery ? That could influence his availability next year . He showed major improvement this season . A key part of this teams plans .
Re: Houser
Still a chance to make the conf tourney; however, without Houser not sure it even matters. The way the team was playing, if they got in, could make some noise. A dam shame. Season can't end soon enough and the portal madness begins again.
Re: Houser
If it was a ACL tear, which it very well could be, he may miss half of next season. Who knows if he was even planning to return to UD but talk about a tough spot for recruiting. Finding quality big men is hard enough.
Re: Houser
I am not sure that MI or anyone else could have anticipated what happened this year to the UD roster. The "deeper bench" you want seemed to be in place before the season started (all 13 scholarships filled) before the injuries began to pile up. No one has suggested that the injuries to Pippen, Brown, Ellison and now Houser were not of the legitimate of the end-of-season type) Then 2 guys who had short-term injuries decided that they are unwilling to play in order to save their eligibility for another year and another team. That leaves 7 scholarship guys and, obviously, the "deeper bench" we all would like to see just isn't there. I have no idea of what has happened with Kebe, but what we see now is 6 scholarship guys who have to play against teams that have bigger rosters available. What lesson should we be learning here? Were those injuries predictable? Could we have guessed that guys would have refused to play? I am not trying to be a smart-**** about this situation, but I just don't have any comforting answers to those kind of questions.Fightinghens2025 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 23, 2026 10:05 pm Man can we hopefully learn a lesson and get a deeper bench for once ? Re: Houser
If Houser is planning to be back next season and if his injury should be surgically treated, the sooner he has the surgery the better his prospects for an early return. IMO, UD has historically too often wasted a lot of time exploring non-surgical treatments for injuries that ultimately required surgery with the result that the affected athletes lost much more time away from their sport than if they had promptly had the surgery

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse - it did.

Re: Houser
With Houser out, that leaves us 6 scholarship players plus 2 walk-ons? or is my math wrong
Re: Houser
I believe Cluck mentioned that he still has 1 year of eligibility left and was going to re-enroll this week and walk-on to help bolster the roster down the stretch... Or did I get that wrong??? Cluck?
Re: Houser
If it’s an ACL tear, which will require surgery and should be done sooner than later, then Houser is out until late November at the earliest, and all of next year if it’s an ACL, MCL and meniscus tear. Just feel awful for him. Not the most athletically gifted guy on the court, but works hard on every play.BlueHenBill wrote: ↑Tue Feb 24, 2026 3:14 pm If Houser is planning to be back next season and if his injury should be surgically treated, the sooner he has the surgery the better his prospects for an early return.
