NDSU Likely Moving up to FBS - Mountain West
Sounds like NDSU moving up to the Mountain West - for football only - is very likely, starting with this fall as part of the 2 year transition. Needless to say, a fairly significant development in the FCS/FBS world.

Sacramento State rumored, and I mean big rumor, to the MAC …. They want FBS in a big way but the feeling has not been mutual
North Dakota State Massey ranking had them finishing second in the Mountain West last year. No doubt they will be very competitive in that conference on day one.

North Dakota St 7.55
UNLV 7.33 2
San Diego St. 7.30

In related FBS news:
https://www.cbssports.com/college-footb ... s-playoff/
"The LA Bowl has been played for the last time as organizers announced Thursday that Washington's win over Boise State in December was the final iteration of the five-year-old postseason event. That brings the total number of bowl games expected to finish out the upcoming 2026 season to 40, which could decrease further in the coming years for some of the small events with further College Football Playoff expansion potentially on its way in the future.
Bowl season as we know it faces uncertainty moving forward given the sport's unruly December calendar and singular transfer portal window in January. Bowl Season executive director Nick Carparelli said last season that bowl games will always have their place, but their total number will be dictated by the number of interested participating teams.
"The bowl system is a market-driven system. Through the 100 years of bowl games, no one has ever dictated how many bowl games there are," Carparelli told The Athletic. "They've been strictly a function of host communities that want to host them and teams that want to participate. If at any point in time, the institutions decide as much as we love the bowl system, we may want to participate at a different level, then the bowl system will adjust accordingly. But no one's in a position to say what the number is, or to make any of those decisions. The market will dictate it."
An increasing number of player opt-outs in non-CFP games is an obvious issue from a competitive standpoint, not to mention bowl practices getting in the way of recruiting.
Bowl games aren't often seen as the "reward" they once were for an admirable finish, especially with college football's all-in push toward the playoff."
Happy our Hens got in on the Bowl gig in time before teams get tired of 5-6 entries to games in the middle of nowhere.
Also happy that NDSU is coming to FBS (if true). But, boy howdy, they have to pay the $5million AND another (probably large) payment to their new conference. Better keep pumping that oil.

Begs the question
What do Hen fans prefer
Bowl games with outside chance make CFP
or
G6 Playoff system
Don’t worry, I’m not going to start a poll

Can they do both? Something similar to the P4? A handful of bowl games that lead to a red headed step-child champion between the other non P4 conferences.

All that I know, is that the trip and game in Mobile was a ton of fun.
What the future holds is anybody's guess.

Maybe now that 90% of the Isla will be watching the halftime show today, maybe a Puerto Rico Bowl could gain some traction as Puerto Ricans are introduced to football today
Just call it The Maldito Bad Bunny Bowl

17M (12M + 5M) for football only - WOW
Anyone know what UD paid to join CUSA in addition to the 5M to move from FCS to FBS?
Thanks

UD CUSA Revenues:
There is a question of whether the Hens received a full share of Media money for '25-26 (long story)--but they should get a full share for 2026-27 about $800-825,000.
Next is the CFP money. Their are no public statements on record of whether the Hens are getting a full or Partial Share of the approx. 1.8M per school. Some say they won't since the latest CFP contract does Not provide money for any additional G6 schools. Some say they do--but that they will reduce (slightly) everyone else's share to allow for this.
A Specific and Direct question to your AD about this would be helpful (if he answers). Most in the Media don't know enough about all this to even ask the Proper question (even if they care to).
For sure though... your AD does Know the Exact answers to all these items.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
NOTE--Be sure NOT to "mix" Total CUSA disbursements with either the Media Deal Or CFP share.
Media, fans, and even your AD (if you let them get away with it) will say(Example)--"We get 3 Million a year from our Conference!" Some ASSUME that means the "media deal" or some other singular item--when in fact it's usually the Entire total revenue disbursement. Unless Pressed the AD will always put the best "spin" on their statements---or give general answers--evade--or change the subject--or claim "privacy issues".
Media Deal Share---a singular dollar figure (PART of CUSA revenue)
CFP Share-----------singular figure aprrox. 1.8M
CUSA TOTAL revenue disbursement---includes the two above plus NCAA unit money--plus several other smaller revenues.
Again>>Most in the Media don't know enough about all these BASICS to even ask the Proper question (even if they care to).
