Re: Bob Hannah
A great Baseball HC and a quality person. Condolences to the Hannah family.
Re: Bob Hannah
Thanks for the heads up, UDFF.
UD was lucky to have such a quality coach and person. Plenty of good memories.
RIP Coach Hannah.

Re: Bob Hannah
Will UD ever have a Coach duplicate the success that Bob had?
I miss when our program was a good, almost great program instead of the mediocrity we have now

Re: Bob Hannah
Hanna took the program to heights that haven’t been approached since.

Re: Bob Hannah
I knew Coach Hannah was a legendary baseball coach but wow
What a record he had!
A native of Trenton, N.J., Hannah led the Fightin' Blue Hens to a 36-year mark of 1,053-464-6
Respects to his family and friends

Re: Bob Hannah
Searches have yet to yield any info as yet on the public Celebration of Life that per Coach Hannah's obituary was to be scheduled after the holidays. Maybe in better weather/Spring?
Re: Bob Hannah
The University is planning a Bob Hannah celebration on 5/2/26 at 6:35 during the FIU baseball weekend, encouraging as many baseball alumni as possible to attend with Bruce Hannah and family throwing out the first pitch, a Hannah t shirt giveaway and PA announcements detaining Coach Hannah's many accomplishments.

Re: Bob Hannah
BH15, Thank you. I hate the fact that they are doing this at night even though it is a Sat game. I wonder if those of us who are UD Baseball fans and don't have season tickets will be able to attend due to the demand and the limited seating capacity.. Further, I hope that UD FB isn't playing their Spring Game that day or night. I am surprised that the Celebration of Life for Bob Hannah isn't being held in the Bob as it was for Tubby.BH15 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 12, 2026 8:17 pm The University is planning a Bob Hannah celebration on 5/2/26 at 6:35 during the FIU baseball weekend, encouraging as many baseball alumni as possible to attend with Bruce Hannah and family throwing out the first pitch, a Hannah t shirt giveaway and PA announcements detaining Coach Hannah's many accomplishments.

The ceremony is on a weekend (at least according to the Gregorian calendar...vs. the Julian Calendar)...in the evening.
To be clear, the celebration of Bob Hannah's life, according to the post above, is on a Saturday, on May 2nd, 2026. Given a 5-month lead...that seems as though it gives plenty of flexibility for for folks that wish to participate to prepare and make plans for the celebration of life for one of UD's honorable coaches.
If you are familiar with the stadium there is plenty of overflow available...and if UD is attuned to any input, they have enough time to add addition seating.
Mind you, several Delaware high schools use the Tub and/or The Bob for their graduations...and they draw far more folks than what will be a one-time relatively unplanned celebration of life for a former UD staff member.

Re: Bob Hannah
IF there is a Spring FB game the speculation is that it will be in the morning/afternoon also on Sat, May 2.
