1-0 over Bucknell on an OT goal by our New Zealand graduate transfer from Michigan State. Penn State tomorrow who is 0-3 with losses to Cuse, UVA and St Joes - all ranked teams I think.

Another 1-0 win against a pretty decent American University team. That’s five games now where only one goal was scored with the Hens holding a 3-2 advantage. Our transfer goalie Cecile van Eijck, who transferred from Kent Stare, has played well and has kept us in games we were outshot. We are now 4-3 overall and 1-0 in conference.

Games against Hofstra (2-5) UConn (7-1), Saint Joes (7-1) and Monmouth (6-1) coming up the next two weekends. St. Joes beat Penn State 4-1 earlier this year.

Two OT losses to top 10 team’s UConn and St Joes the past week, sandwiched in between a win at pre season favorite Monmouth. Team is definitely improved.

When you have a hard time scoring, that leaves you vulnerable to be upset by anyone. Can’t win many games only putting one in the net.
7-1!

Hall of Fame numbers for Carty (for those who count such things).

Favorable schedule…10-1 possible.

And lost to 16th ranked Princeton 2-1 in OT.

From the Princeton website:

Princeton had a 21-5 edge in shots against Delaware, as well as a 13-0 edge in penalty corners, the final one of which saw Grace Schulze insert the ball to Sykes, who trapped it and ripped into the far corner of the Blue Hen cage to end things.

Still, we are competitive with ranked teams like UConn, St; Joes and Princeton. If we can win the CAA and get into the NCAAs, we might make some noise.

Not looking too far ahead but a HUGE game against Drexel coming up on the 1st of November. Could be a first place in CAA type of game.

Loss tonight to a decent Northeastern Team.

Lots of chances. Lots of Corners. Not enough scoring. Similar issues to last year IMO.

Are they still in contention for a CAA Tournament berth? Questions might be asked about Rolf’s tenure if they go 2 years in a row not making it

yep- another single score close one! the box score proves the headline a bit off as UD clearly dominated. SOS problem- getting the rock by the goalie. I'd bet Rolf will be concentrating on shooting drills before Drexel in hopes of salvaging the season with an ncaa appearance as the CAA champ. fingers crossed
