In terms of trying to determine the new conference for the other sports, this makes the waters even muddier.

Well, do you think the men’s soccer program, going to the Summit by itself, clarifies where the other programs are going??

No, but I didn't expect that UD would be able to get more than 2 sports (if that many) in one conference once the CAA banned UD from any associate membership.Henny wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 9:27 pmWell, do you think the men’s soccer program, going to the Summit by itself, clarifies where the other programs are going??

I thought the coach made an excellent point about the number of teams in the CAA soccer league (10, I think) being a detriment to the team as conference play had to start too early and it eliminated the chance to schedule some higher level OOC games. I'm sure the team benefits more from playing Maryland than it would playing Elon. He also mentioned a three hour flight versus an 8 hour bus ride being less draining - travel wise.Udforever1 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 1:28 pm A snippet from the F&F podcast with McMenemy regarding the conference move.

You have to add the time required drive to and from to either the Phila or Baltimore Airports and drive time to and from the airports most convenient to the opponents' locations. Further would these be Charter Flights or regular commercial flights? If commercial, connecting flights may be required adding more time. Commercial direct or connceting you have to allow how many hours that you have to be at the airports ahead of your flight times departing & returning. While the trips by air (especially if Charters) would still probably be significantly shorter than by bus, there won't be anywhere near a five hour difference between bus and flight(s).dchen wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 5:10 pmI thought the coach made an excellent point about the number of teams in the CAA soccer league (10, I think) being a detriment to the team as conference play had to start too early and it eliminated the chance to schedule some higher level OOC games.
