Hens Offseason

Post by Udforever1 »

Didn’t want to get this one mixed up with the CAA off season one, so created a new topic.

First transfer news I’ve seen so far. Hens are showing interest in Holy Cross 6’5 G Bo Montgomery. Averaged 11 PPG, 5 boards and 3 assists per game this year. Shot 40% from 3. One year left.

Hens reported to have contacted 6'4" guard John Lamothe from Maryland with 3 years of eligibility left.

If any recruit is a good player you can look for them to leave after a year or two.

There’s the spirit!
Tubby: 3 national titles, one won on the field, all D2
Keeler: 3 national titles, all won on the field, one as a player, two as a coach, 1 D2, 2 FCS
Carty: 2 on-field national titles, one as a player, one as an OC, both FCS

Carty - get an FBS bowl win!

Might not be “the spirit”, but is “a fact”.

I keep going back to teams like Charleston, JMU, Grand Canyon, St Mary’s, and others. How are they doing it? Don’t reinvent the wheel. Let’s figure out how some mid-majors are thriving in this new world and follow their example.

There are many of us that think like this. McNeese also went from 11 to 30 wins in one year with a new coach. It surely can be done quickly. You have to go out and get guys that can play. They are obviously out there. But it can’t be done when the coach brings in for example guards that can’t shoot. And it wasn’t one but two. And they were replacing guards that left because they weren’t good enough in the CAA. And then two years in a row of not getting anyone that can play close to the basket. It is close to a dereliction of duty and all coming off an NCAA appearance. The statute of limitations is quickly running out on that appearance.

Grand Canyon has an extremely large online enrollment. They are one of the largest Christian schools. I’m sure they have some donations flowing through there like Liberty.
