Thanks Steve...is UMass making the move with us? Would be great to get the band back together... :D
Heard no, CUSA is not an academic fit for us. It's the MAC all sports in the next 1-3 years. If it's UMass all sports and UConn FB only, two independents will need time to unwind the schedules. Hey could you guys use some FBS OOC games? :D

This is a real positive of the move. Can we expect to see more, better recruits coming our way now? Maybe some OL and DL guys.
Navy, army, temple, UConn, Umass, JMU etc etc all could come to our house sounds pretty good to me!
Yes, the conference is what it is but the move opens up a whole new class of OOC possibilities.

Won’t have to wait till Gameday to get lines for games now - they’ll be out 6 days before.

On the other hand, outside of the first two-three games of the year game times aren’t known until 12 days before game.

Delaware has too much potential to stay in the CAA.

It’s time to go. No real advantage to staying in the CAA other than the playoff series and tradition.

The only constant thing is change.

Now, we need to follow Sam Houston path, win a national championship on the way out.

Better 40 years late than never.

I will be renewing my season tickets with excitement. Might even double up from two seats to four, since friends and family will be interested in FBS opponents. Woot!

100% agree with the unknown of the college landscape in the next 5-10 years which is why they pulled the trigger (a costly wait as we forked over 5mil instead of 5k...wonder if the powers that be responsible for this long delay will be held accountable for such a costly error?). The conferences are shifting and dividing like platelets, and I'd be surprised if ten years from now if such a conference exists. What's important is that we did it before they slammed the door. Delaware is a gem and the only reason they aren't playing Maryland, Rutger's, Temple, is they thought they knew better and were wrong.

I went to Tenn a few weeks ago and on the drive I saw JMU's stadium and it made me sick. That dump is in the middle of nowhere and they have this beautiful stadium, nationally ranked, playing in a much more desirable conference and this eases it sum.

Henzone must be licking his lips at the thought of getting to boo KC and be encouraged to do so :) That is going to be a wild homecoming.

Excited for this change and yes, it's very long in coming. Glad that Chrissi and the powers that be decided to finally make this move - it'll cost us a little more than it should've but that's the price of being a slow mover. The CUSA we're moving into today may not look like anything the CUSA will be 5 years from now, and we could very well be in a different place 5 years from now as well, but that's always what this has been about - we have to be at the table to have any chance of being offered a chair when they rearrange the tables, as FBS football is bound to do.

I've also always said, Delaware football needs to be, at a minimum, at the second level of football. It used to be small college football, then DII, then I-AA, then FCS. Today, it's right below whatever the P5 is morphing into (P2.5)? By staying where we are we're just letting the football program continue to slide backwards into irrelevance. I don't want that, I want excitement back in the stadium on fall Saturdays (or whatever day of the week we play). We started getting that again with Carty and the players he's brought in and brought up since he's been here, but it's always been bigger than that. Looking forward to schedules ahead that we've talked about ad nauseum here - it would be great to see Temple, Navy, Army, UMass, UConn, JMU, etc back in the Tub as opponents. Good times ahead.

Wow! Congrats Delaware!

A revamped and upgraded schedule will get me to attend a few more FB games a year.

This is just the first step; who knows what/where you'll be in the next x amount of years in College FB.

A new era for UD sports deserves a new era of thinking. Modernize everything, while keeping traditions in mind.

I guess the BOT has stopped laughing Chrissi out of the room! I'm not crazy about the conference but I look at it in the most positive light. We'll be bringing in more schollies and more talent and playing against teams that have more scollies and more talent and I think that will be most noticeable. And the chance of playing schools like Navy, Temple, Army at home will make our home schedule that much more attractive.
Finally, getting paid much more for our next game against Penn State and other top programs should help alleviate some of the financial concerns.

I don’t have a CSN account, so not sure if things are being discussed in a private forum, but seems like our future conference mates are pretty excited about our addition.

Well, maybe it’s a little bit better fit as UD joins. The academic fit argument is an old one that has no legs any longer.
