They’ve started. This is a normal game type prep week now.

Not exactly facing a power house in Long Island.
I have said Stony Brook was a bad football team last year, but when the real FCS expert (Dan) put out a reminder on why it can be a tough place to play, I agreed with him.

Our QB will be making his first college start and our D has more new faces than the line at the DMV …

Despite all that, this is a game that Delaware should win and hopefully win in easy fashion, we don’t need any nail bitter here

Should be a confidence booster for our defense. Stony has one returning starter on the OL and two or three others that have even appeared in a game.

Posts like the above worry me - especially with a road game. Stony isn't an easy place to play and we are relatively new as well.

Agreed. Lots of unknowns with the Hens also. Posts like this over the last 12 years haven't aged well.

I stand by what I said. It should be a confidence booster. But sadly, any new found confidence won't survive the following weekend.

"Our QB will be making his first college start"

Stony's QB hasn't completed a pass in his 3 years in college football. Advantage Hens. Sorry guys , not buying from Dan, Carib or anyone else that we're playing a good team. Having said that all I'm looking for is a win. If we don't start this season at 1-1 then the interest will plummet .

The Lost Decade of Delaware Football.

Hopefully, it is behind us.

Hens win.
Tubby: 3 national titles, one won on the field, all D2
Keeler: 3 national titles, all won on the field, one as a player, two as a coach, 1 D2, 2 FCS

Carty - get an FBS bowl win!

When a team goes 2-9, one could argue that a lot of new players could be a positive for Stony.

Too many intangibles to make an accurate comment. From what I've seen and heard O'Connor is #1 and Marker #2 . I think the staff would prefer to get as many reps with O'Connor as they could but Marker's running talent sets up for some unique opportunities.

u bet

It struck me as a real negative for student interest in THIS season's football that the first 2 games are away. After the PSU game I fear we may view student/fan interest at an all time low. Then we play an unappealing 4 game home stand with only POWERFUL New Hampshire :P of interest - probably ONLY to diehard Blue Hen fans!! How are we to fill the seats??? We better be undefeated in FCS play  before the final Villanova affair. To potentially fill the now depleted stadium capacity might be quite a challenge

I have become aware that my interest for this season has been diminishing -comparable to the famous economic "Law of Diminishing Returns". With the end of the Dead Zone, I've viewed little news to spark my interest though the Stony Brook video of their coach's monologue was the highlight. Anyway, I will still tune in as always to our Famous Flo Football broadcast- the best that money can buy

(not just for their lives) will be a huge positive. The bad road losses of the past hopefully are over?

Honestly haven’t seen enough of O’Conner to have a feel for his running skills, but looks like an accurate passer and very comfortable in the offense … if he can run up field, all the better

Marker in the one game I saw him at Iowa Central looked more like of a Carty type player meaning he can make plays out of nothing with his feet….a risk taker. I’m sure Saprano Brook knows all that can be known about both QBs

Odds Hens minus 11
