Gonna miss watching this guy play as well. He might. Other than Pops, KW1 was my favorite safety to watch. He’ll be on a team next year as will Nolan:

On the Pitts side of things. He had at least 5 NFL teams that came to exclusively scout him before the playoff game. You put his numbers and measurements during his pro day and they are right there with OBJ (4.43 and 4 inches shorter). The FCS has produced 3 of the best WR’s to ever play the game in RIce, Moss, and TO. He’s got everything a WR needs to succeed in the NFL. Hope the GMen grab him.

Pitts has all the makings of an NFL receiver, and even potentially a good one as well. He's a bit of a steal later in the draft by the right team. And the "right team" is what held him back here at Delaware all these years. Crappy offenses, and crappily designed offenses, held him back until this past year at UD, and even in this past year he was still underutilized. In the right schemes he could've been an all-time great. Still one of the better WR's to come through Newark and it'll be fun watching him on Sundays as long as he doesn't end up with Dallas.

Pitts is very remenicent of Courtney Batts and Jamin Elliot Super effective but not super flashy. Jamin did go on to play for the bears for a few years. That 4.37 does surprise me a little wasn't expecting that. 4.37 will definitely put him on the radar with his solid production throughout his career

Underutilized this past year? It’s not like he was the only receiver on the team. NH spread the ball around - Townsend 61 catches, Pitts 57, Harvin 39, Buckman 39, Jackson 20, and that doesn’t include passes to TE’s and RB’s. Pitts led the team in TD catches with 10 and, as I recall, most of those came in the red zone. Additionally, you have to remember that the opposition also knew how good Thyrick was/is and he was often double-covered.

No doubt, but I felt like there were too many times in games when we didn't try to feed it to Pitts. Heck, I think Pitts thought that as well as there were even times it looked like he wasn't going full speed because he wasn't involved in the play. Certainly understand the point of spreading it around as well as avoiding the double team, but when you do have an alpha-WR like Pitts sometimes you need to let him do his thing and get him the ball. I thought we could've done more of that this past year, especially in big spots when we needed to move the chains or score. I'm not saying we didn't do some of that, I just think we could've and should've done more.

His 10-yard split was bad…as in a rating of 2.1 out of 10 bad. He earned a red flag on that part of the combine.

I never thought of Pitts as a burner, and this is probably why. Apparently, he doesn’t get off the blocks quickly. Sure, he might get up to a good cruising speed (his 40 was solid), but he doesn’t have a good first couple steps. How many pass routes are 40-yards down field?

Anyway…I wish him well.
