I hope Gwynn enjoyed his playing time this fall because if you ask me, he won’t see the field again. I thought he did ok given the circumstances but you can’t coach mobility and he doesn’t have it.
Need a mobile QB
Nobody did ask you, but right I've always said that about Tom Brady also.
It would be great for gohens if everyone just got behind the team and new coaching staff. Rather then trying to analyze the obvious negatives lets see what Carty and his crew have to offer us going forward. If Gwynn is too slow to be the #2 then I'm sure our former #2 will be the first to recognize that fact and make adjustments.
I'm zoning in on my 70th year watching the Hens and will candidly suggest the next few are the most critical in the program's history. Soon the new CAA teams will be announced and I'm not sure the public, and of course some of our nincompoops, will be overwhelmed by the newbies. The fanbase can handle playing and clobbering Merchant Marine, Gettysburg, CW Post and Dixie State but we don't seem to be able to clobber anyone anymore . We had a championship coach who couldn't win in his own conference and two more who just couldn't win. We're on the edge of losing the fanbase . I'm for positively looking forward to the 22 Hens and focusing on bringing the Tub back to life. The lights are flickering guys.

I liked the last few months on gohens a lot better. Don’t you have anything better to do?
And about Gwynn being #2 the last 2 seasons. Anyone who saw if play at Sallies couldn’t imagine in their wildest dreams him being #2 for the Hens and playing meaningful games. It was just another utter failure in manning the QB position for over a decade. I am hopeful Carty will do better with QBs and he will end the decade of failure.
Wait! The Hens clobbered Dixie State? Now I know what we’ve been missing for the last month or so. Has anyone warned Coach Carty about a certain groupie from GoHens?

Huh? I’m fired up with what I’ve seen from Carty so far
and he will not repeat one of Rocco’s big mistakes by not having a back up QB.
Montana State will be playing with a back up this Saturday in the Championship game vs the Bison, who’s QB was second string at the start of the season. Lots of FCS teams have back up QBs that are good players. I really hope Delaware will be one of those teams and maybe we do have a QB on the roster that can play but who knows. I trust Carty to know and he will this spring.
Maybe this is the year you will finally get behind our starting QB. You can tell the new staff is excited about Henderson.
Get onboard HZ, the future is looking bright

Carib, it’s January and I have an excitement about this program that I haven’t had in a while. Maybe it’s the young, engaging staff. Maybe it’s the fact that the staff knows the portal exists. I don’t know.
Speaking of the portal, I’d imagine that we will not get all of our offers out right now. Like Carib said, Carty will assess a lot of things in the spring, both QB and other positions. Clearly he sees right now that we need oline help, which is good. There is always that second wave that hits the portal after spring ball. I imagine some of our guys may enter it as well after some conversations with the staff once spring ball is done.
I’m totally onboard with the new enthusiasm Coach!
Very refreshing new start for our Hens in 2022. I can be very patient and realize things might not completely come together this fall, but a part of me believes it could really happen quick meaning playoffs this fall. I bet Carty is thinking playoffs in year one.
Those evaluations that Carty and staff will make and the discussions they will have on personnel are of great interest to me.
Spring practice can’t come soon enough

This team isn't a total rebuild it just needs some fresh schemes on offense, more aggressive defense style, healthy QB, and 3 to 5 more D1 quality players on the lines and this team should easily make the playoffs especially in a weak CAA conference. A 9 or 10 win season including playoffs is very very possible.
Gwynn is a nice guy…a gentleman and a great example of a UD and Sallies student. He also plays football.
He’d be the first one to tell you he needs to improve his play. In fact, he has already done that many times.
Will he start or be back up QB next season? Not if we get a better QB or two. Gwynn knows that. Rocco is gone. No more starter’s privilege.
Carty won’t follow that stubborn crap about not trying another QB. if Gwynn wins in practice and fails in the game…the bench awaits.
Of course, Gwynn (and any QB…including Henderson) will be better if we get a bunch of OLs. Miami had their No Name D…UD isn’t having quite the same success with our no name OL.
Tubby: 3 national titles, one won on the field, all D2
Keeler: 3 national titles, all won on the field, one as a player, two as a coach, 1 D2, 2 FCS
Carty: 2 on-field national titles, one as a player, one as an OC, both FCS
This is a critical time for sure for the program and having the same sense of urgency that HZ was talking about is t a bad thing at all. But I haven’t been this excited for UD football since mid way through the 3rd quarter of the NC game before Gino got hurt. Go Hens.

That may have hurt, but the real backbreaker was losing Jake Giusti. That's when EWU started marching up and down the field with their passing game. I could be wrong, but as I recall, Walters slid over into Jake's position and the defensive backfield chemistry and communication just wasn't the same after that. The real crime was that Jake's acl tear happened when he was clipped on a kickoff (punt?) return and no penalty was called.
