What a great ambassador for the University and one of the hardest working and most loyal people you could possibly meet. Great guy too. Congratulations buddy.
Let's once again play the hard, physical, dominating football that we have been known for.

+1 I met Jerry in 2007 when I visited UD for a football game. He brought me right into his office and we chatted. Super fun guy and loyal/motivated. I asked if I could meet with KC. He got KC to sit down with me within 5-10 minutes, and we had a chat about the program. I never was a fan of KC personally, but he had produced a NC at that time so I figured it would be interesting to get info from the horse's mouth. Besides congratulating him about his success, I threw in that the team seemed to lack emotion on the field and the sidelines. His response to that particular comment was that he wanted a methodical/controlled approach. I saw at that point that he was going to do everything his own way.
The visit simply reinforced my opinion about him, but I gave him credit for talking with an alumnus supporter of the school with no prior appointment.
I thanked Jerry-end of story except that KC was let go later on leading to the Brock Era of Debacle for what had been perceived rightly as one of the best teams in the FCS/1AA historically. Our TV time has been limited ever since as our reputation presently is in the gutter nationally. Hopefully DR will change that situation immediately. I EXPECT us to kick butt, jump back into the spotlight, and be playoff material. DR will restore our national recognition again esp. with a new qb and decent game plan.
Keep the faith kick butt go Hens

I certainly agree that Jerry is the best person for this position and he will do a superlative job just like he has done in every position throughout his career. His connections with past athletes and alumni will reap great rewards for University and bring in contributions to enable facility and program improvements in the future. Chrissi has made another smart business decision and demonstrated again that she was the best choice for Athletic Director. My only question concerning this move is will Carl Kotz do as good a job as Jerry. Coach Rocco has a reputation for surrounding himself with quality people so time will tell.

This is my first post here in a long time.More about that later. I wanted to say that I believe Jerry is a grad of ST E but I might be wrong.

Good Luck.

What I've seen and experienced so far, Carl is a quality business ops guy. And he certainly was visible and talking to fans at the spring practices; a good move on his part IMO.

That said, there is only one Jerry O.
