Fingers crossed now that this doesn’t result in some kind of domino effect.

Why does it feel like all of MI’s best recruits/transfers end up leaving?

Because that is the makeup of these kids today. They feel no need to be loyal to anyone but themselves.
Keepin' it real.

It could be as simple as playing position. Mutts IMO is your classic tweener. Undersized for the 4 (not at mid major) but doesn’t have the ball handling/shooting to play the 3. If he did, he would be at a P5 school.

He probably wants to play professionally and is looking to find a school that will allow him to play the 3.

Or he watched Horton move on to Pitt and wants that same opportunity.

121 credits in 36 months is pretty impressive considering summer session is the lone term that doesn’t have basketball travel/games/full practice slate. It’s far easier for a football player to do that. Easy being a relative term.

I thought he and Darling were like peas in a pod like Brothers? Surprised to read about his transfer though it's unfortunately becoming the new "thing".
If he has thoughts of going pro, I can't see him in the NBA though his best fit would probably be outside the US. He was an unorthodox forecourt player(inconsistent O) with a bit of an undisciplined D fouling issue though a solid rebounder. Loyalty to our "team" appears to be a problem as a number of talented players like Daly, Horton, and Mutts have moved on.

I sure hope Darling returns.

Mr Carr whom I'm high on appears certain to be given more minutes immediately. I feel he will be a real plus for this upcoming? season. I was hoping for another "big" being brought in before Mutts' move, I believe it now is a must, but being selective is important.
Keep the faith kick butt go Hens

Let's be serious...Mutts has zero chance of playing in the NBA. Having said that, he should be able to make a nice living playing overseas. Best of luck to him...now next man up!!!

Is Novakovich someone we can rely on to take over the 4 spot? He seems like the prototypical "stretch 4" that may be a better fit in MI's offense, perhaps. I'd like to see the kid add 15 lbs of muscle weight to his upper body. Hopefully he is working out.

It is a good bet that Mutts already has his destination lined up. There aren't many higher-level programs that could guarantee him, at this point, a chance to get more minutes than he would get at UD.

That would be tampering.

And that definitely happens.

Honest question: Do the rules against tampering apply to grad transfers? I don't see how an institution can hold onto a student-athlete after graduation.

“Yesterday when I put my name in the portal, my phone kinda like blew up,” Mutts said Saturday. “I’m fielding calls now. I probably heard from like 15 to 20 schools yesterday. I put my name in the portal at like 5 p.m

Coming back to Delaware for one year and then playing his final season of eligibility someplace else is also “a very real possibility,” Mutts said.
“I love the Blue Hen fans with my whole heart, truly,”
