Delaware Football changed forever?

Watching ESPN tonight and they had this idea...FCS plays football in the spring of 2021, and continues to play in the spring moving forward with FBS playing in the fall.

What’s not on the clip is the hosts/panel liking the idea. Don’t underestimate the power ESPN has with college football.

that eliminates playing up/money games....so you lose that experience, but would there really be a potential TV market to infuse cash into the FCS level in the spring...It is an interesting thought......but it will never happen.

NFL potentials would be totally screwed with a regular spring schedule.

Pollack literally didn't think that through at all and to verbalize it shows the utter disregard for the FCS at ESPN.

On talk of Power 5 games in the spring: ESPN has had other analysts (don't know names) say that if players had a high potential NFL Draft grade they would not expect them to play any spring games.

Already you have healthy players sitting out non-playoff bowl games (i.e. Christian McCaffrey, Sun Bowl, 2016) for those reasons.

😂... Neither... She's an internet sensation for that side eye she's giving to her mom/dad. Her face explains exactly how I feel about Delaware playing spring football.

Does anyone have any idea how the XFL ratings were before COVID shut it down? That could be an indicator of what the public appetite for spring football on TV would be. XFL or FCS, may generate the same amount of interest if its the only football on.

But for the record, I don't like the idea either.

The USFL lasted about three years and that was the high water mark for Spring football.

It probably could have lasted longer but the owner of the NJ Generals wanted to go head to head with the NFL in the fall. We all know how that turned out.
