Hen Droppings

Respectful and civil discussion of Delaware Football
Forum rules
1. Be respectful of our online community and contribute to an engaging conversation. We reserve the right to ban impersonators and remove comments that contain personal attacks, threats, or profanity, or are flat-out offensive.
2. Stay on topic. If you feel you really have something to add that doesn’t quite fit the current topic, start a new one.
3. Keep rebuttals and disagreements impersonal. You can disagree with someone respectfully without resorting to name-calling or other insults.
4. Do not single out players for criticism by name, number or position. These are 18-23 year-old kids that are trying their best while juggling a college class load. Let’s be supportive.
5. Remember always that players read these boards; players’ families read these boards; respective recruits read these boards; opposing fans read these boards. As a GoHens.net member, YOU represent Delaware Football to others. Please do so in a positive manner.

Hen Droppings

Post by HensRock » Thu Jun 04, 2020 4:05 pm

Dear Members,
Our boards have become more and more politically charged and polarized.
This only acts to separate us, instead of this site's intended purpose - and that is to unite us all behind our beloved Blue Hens.

I originally created the Hen Droppings forum to give members a place to discuss matters outside the realm of Blue Hen Athletics. This was a mistake on my part. The forum had become a cesspool of hatred and bickering. I'm sure there are plenty of politically themed message boards out there for those of you who feel compelled to post on such subjects. Personally, I don't care for it.

After much discussion with other GoHens members, I decided to delete the Hen Droppings forum along with all of it's posts.
So instead of emphasizing our differences, let's emphasize our common interest of the Blue Hens. We have plenty of differing opinions on that subject alone!

Thank you for your understanding in this decision.
Be careful of the words you say,
keep them soft and sweet.
You never know from day to day
which ones you'll have to eat!

Feel free to go to another site if you feel you were victimized. Hensrock started the site for UD Athletics not for politics. Not every post can be read or monitored so we look for posters to use good judgment in their postings and to avoid personal attacks. Should be easy to follow but again if you feel you were singled out or only THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL SITE were allowed to post, you would be mistaken. Please stay as a poster and talk sports but also feel free to move on.

Pouring one out for the COVID-19 thread. ... Thought we were really coming close to a vaccine there at the end.

Want to thank 00, who took plenty of time to explain some topics of interest to the group at-large.

Let's all remember Forum Rules 1/3 moving forward. The posts speak for themselves.

Thankfully I never ventured into that forum and thank you HensRock for keeping the focus on Delaware Football. I would be disappointed if one of respites from the madness was ruined by partisan bickering.

Im not Board Police just offering you options since you are so offended. Its Hensrocks site with his guidelines so you will need to respect that. Has ZERO to do whether anyone agrees with you. Like I said, please feel free to stay on and post on UD sports and debate, exchange information etc. If not, just move on and save yourself the anguish.

It's now time to move forward. Please re read the board rules and it wouldn't hurt to use punctuation and structure your post so you are better understood.

Glad you are holding your season tickets.

I believe I had made the last post in that thread. It was critical of violence at protests. I apologize for that.

Thank the Admins for allowing the latitude in posting on a non-athletics-related topic for as long as you did. Believe it or not, the ability to post here—where i had to assimilate data and present answers to questions in layman’s terms—probably helped me be better for my community and colleagues at work.

I understand and support your decision, and I look forward to the days of Blue Hen football returning.

Stay well. Be kind. Go Hens.

Had to Present answers to questions in layman‘s terms..... haha

Thanks for the recognition Doc

Yes, Although it had a lot of ugliness in it it was probably one of the best threads ever on this website (non-sports)

I found it to be the best source of strait up information on the coronavirus that you could find anywhere

Hopefully very soon we will have some sports to talk about again

Hen Doppings is gone. It's gone because too many posters decided they didn't want to follow the board rules. Every aspect of life has rules. Some people follow the rules and some choose to ignore them. When one person continually ignores the rules he imboldens others to follow him and pretty soon everything becomes a hate filled debate. That is what happened in Hen Droppings. This is not the new location to continue that and it will not be allowed. Follow the board rules and have fun with civil conversation about UD football.

Kinda strange when that forum went on for years with topics like Phillies 2019 and so on. One incendiary poster put a match to it all.

It was more than one poster. You have no idea how many warnings were given to different posters. Please enjoy civil discussions about UD football. Thanks to all.
