When will College Football resume? Links and references.

There have been some comments about this subject in other threads, so I thought I’d start one where we can try to keep up to date on what’s being said in various “official” and “semi-official” outlets.

I’m not starting this post so much to get opinions from those of us on the board as much as to try to provide a repository where we can post links to articles that reference what various entities are saying - NCAA; CFP; College Conferences, Presidents, AD’s; State Governments; State University Systems; etc.

Here’s a link to one from today to get the ball rolling.

https://www.ksl.com/article/46752690/co ... e-football

Again, this is to provide a place to drop in links and articles. If someone else wants to start a new topic where posters can put their opinions, feel free to do so. Then you can copy links from this post as reference if you want to, but I am going to try to keep this just as a place to post links to various articles, videos, etc.

Excellent discussion about issues the decision makers face to play college football this fall. Worth the 45 minute time investment.

Nothing specifically football related, but both Notre Dame and South Carolina separately in the last two days announced they are having the full student body back on campus in the fall. Shift in schedule, they will start two weeks earlier, have no included fall break, and will be done and leaving campus at Thanksgiving (not coming back for finals). Finals will be incorporated in the class or done online. Idea is to get the semester done before the chance of a recurrence in the colder months. Notre Dame even detailed further, said all students and faculty and other staff will be full contact traced when on campus, will have testing, and will have facilities to isolate and quarantine students as needed.

Like I said, not football related per se, but the writing's on the wall that they will be playing football in some locations this fall.

One-time transfer waivers are dead until at least 2021-22 academic year, sources told @Stadium, as NCAA Division I Council approved a resolution to develop legislation regarding transfer eligibility for January 2021 that would not be effective until 2021-22 academic year

When will the HENS be back on campus? The NCAA opened it up on June 1, 2020?

Fairly certain, but done quote me, that football camp is supposed to open in August. I worked in summer housing last year....and was supposed to this year, obviously most camps have been canceled. There are a couple of groups that haven’t canceled their camps for August yet, holding on the the hope that housing will open. Bear in mind, students still have stuff in dorms from spring semester, they have to be able to collect their stuff then maintenance is going to have to do heavy duty cleanings before any thought can even given as to when/where any of this can take place.

With it looking more and more like football will happen. Will UD be offering up the streaming through their web site as fans in the stands especially the majority of die yards for UD are in the at risk group. I would be willing to pay to get the games via streaming as would many others.

Bingo!! If you want to make educated guesses about what UD can/will do in terms of the fall semester, watch for what is said about the residence halls. In truth, how classes are taught will have little bearing on when UD opens because there are multiple options for those activities. Not so for residence halls. That's where students congregate most often and until there is a safe way to put students in housing .......all else will be on hold. JMHO.
