Exactly right and we are better positioned now than at any point in recent years to provide the next man up depth we need to keep building.

We really don't know about of competition. How many key players does each team need to replace? How is the depth on each team that we play? How many teams have lost key coaches?

IMO, things are not as bleak as many think.
Tubby use to say the perfect schedule consisted of 3 teams we should beat----3 teams were we should be the underdog----and 3 teams that could go either way. I see our schedule playing out that way.

We are strong on our OL and DL. That is where games are won. This can be a very good season for the Hens!

Let the comments begin! I would post some of my own, but it’s late and I’m turning the lights off.

How about someone copy & paste the article.. Help a brother out KT!
Maybe if I have lots of time later. Too many adds, etc. to cut and paste around to be able to do it quickly.

Have you tried the link? I thought non-subscribers get a chance to read a few articles before having to pay for a subscription.

Couple of other comments. Manny Rojas left the program to become DC at Lafayette and has been replaced by Dave Legg, who coached at Richmond for 12 years including 5 under DR. He has responsibility for Outside lbs/co-special teams coordinator. Also, Coach Cosh has taken over again as DB Coach, which he was doing before Nick Rapone came back for last year.

We lost a lot more than that...but I agree that the program has to get to a point where we "reload" and not "rebuild" every three years.

I really like our young LB's and I think Henderson is going to be the best hs QB we've had since Matt Nagy. My concern is about these highly touted OL who haven't developed but who next year are going to have to carry the load when we graduate some really great players (I think 4/5vstarting OL's are seniors) and the skill positions. We lost an insane amount of talent. Now if these freshmen coming in pull of Cooper Cup we're in good shape and as I said before I don't think our RB is as bad as we think. I agree with 72, the learning curve and ability to play sooner than later will allow Watson to see the field sooner. Having a better OL is gonna be a huge held as well. But Henderson is going to need guys to get open and certainly could have used Walker, Papale, and Scarff. Our you TE's come in highly touted, hopefully they can catch and block.

Coleman is the real deal but he's a possession WR and will help fill Papale's role, but I don't see anyone who can fill in for what Walker was able to do last year. Time will tell.

On a side note...Balt...what's going on with the Ravens?

No, but that's because they have talent waiting on the bench to plug the gaps, nobody even notices the holes....... Rocco was correct when he called the Bison the outlier, that is a top 25 FBS team right there.... They are better than PItt I would say.... Hopefully we can give them some payback in September but we will need a few more pieces that are not here yet to do so

First I know a lot more was lost, but I cut it down to the best 2 for the sake of typing. As for the Ravens......my take is this. and it is only my opinion, but I think Weddle is done. Should retire. I think Suggs is done or at least a situational pass rusher, not a full time player. So those two going is not a big loss.....However, I will say this about Suggs and the other FA departures......The Ravens put all their eggs in the Lamar Jackson basket. Lamar Jackson is a terrific athlete......no doubt. BUT......he is a thrower, not a passer. I do not see that getting better at this stage of his career. The run first offense that the Ravens employed with him to close the year was more like run only. Much like a hitter in baseball who is hitting the cover off the ball to start the season, once he goes around 2nd or 3rd time against the pitchers, they figure out how to pitch to him and he goes cold.......NFL DCs now have a lot of film on Jackson. THey are smart guys and WILL know how to stop the Lamar Jackson run only offense in the upcoming season. Soooooo Baltimore has to figure out how to pass. NOOOOOO WR free agent worth his jock in the NFL will sign with Baltimore and the Lamar Jackson show. NONE! So Jackson will have to become a passer with trash heap FA receivers and rookies. It is going to be a disaster. Back to Suggs, Mosely, Za'darius smith, John Brown, et al.....They are smart guys. They see the sinking ship that is the SS Raven and got out while the getting was good......on the bright side, this may position the Ravens to take Trevor Lawrence in a few years......And don't get me wrong, Jackson is an exceptional athlete, but I see him as a good 1-2 threat with whomever they have at RB and someone else under center.......

Stop making excuses. We hear how awesome our recruits are EVERY year. At some point that needs to pay up when the incumbent graduates and should not take two years after they start playing to make an impact.....

As a Giants fan we call dibs on Lawrence... :D I agree 100% about Jackson. They have RG3 on their sidelines, they can't see how this turns out? My prediction we hear "Flacco" chants by the end of the year. Of course, if they get Bell...maybe run a little Wing-T (I mean what they were doing at the end of the season wasn't much better)...What's Ted Kempski up too? Just saying.

In fairness to RG3 he is a much better passer than Lamar Jackson.....
