I note the use of the word "scheduled" game on September 19. It will be interesting to see where UD lands on having a football season much less actually having fans in the stands. Further if the UD decides to have fans in the stands at the Tub, how will that play out in terms of controlling the crowd or with regard to how they handle those who have already purchased season tickets. I'd love to see UD football this fall, but I'm not sitting in the stadium (and I purchased my ST before the spam hit the fan with Covid).
YOU can't possibly be serious! STH #'s are down & you think there will be a RUSH to see LIU play in Newark? Here's an idea, only allow STH & students into the stadium & there will be less than 5,000 in a 20K seat stadium!
Frankly, it's not like there are a lot of exciting opponents on the schedule, but I would probably be in the stadium if they end up playing this fall. Gotta find myself one of those UD branded masks, but I'll be there.
Gannonfan, If you find any UD branded masks for sale, please post a link. I have been checking periodically since at least April, but so far I haven't been able to find anything other than a neck gaiter.

Update from BOT agenda:

an update on the Whitney Athletic Center. The project
experienced some delays, primarily due to delays in receiving materials that were
located in other states where operations had been shuttered. The project timeline
has been extended as a result, and the timeline is set to complete on September
23, although plans are in place to accommodate the scheduled football game on September 19.

BlueHenBobby, You won't attend even if if fan numbers are restricted, seat locations are adjusted to maintain social distancing (and maybe entrance to the Stadium is by time/gate appointment), and face masks are required? The only other potential problems that I see (and they also can be surmounted with appropriate procedures) are concessions and restrooms. According to studies, the risk of covid-19 infection indoors is 19 times the risk outdoors. Given approrpriate measures, attending a UD Basketball game or any UD indoor sports would probably be much more risky than attending a FB game or any UD outdoor sports.
I agree that the risk is far less outdoors, but it's not zero. I will greatly miss being at the games but the risk just isn't worth it. Both my wife and I are pushing 70 with pre-existing conditions- asthma, lung scarring, etc. etc. The other part of that is the divergence of opinions on things like masks and social distancing. We may behave, but will the people around us? I'm betting that by the 2021 season this will be worked out with vaccines and drug therapies. We'll be back then.

My wife & I are in comaparable risk categories. We are going to play it by ear and make a decision each week based on regional covid-19 status and fan behavior. I have no doubt that UD will require mask wearing (except to eat/drink), social distancing with apprpriate seating/parking/gate entry/concessions/bathroom arrangements, and enforcement measures. We will not be attending any tailgates. If we attend any game and aren't comfortable, we will leave and we won't come back until effective vaccines/treatments are readily available. Everyone must make their own decision with respect to game attendance and I won't criicize them for it, just the yahoos who won't wear masks and won't social distance because they are too selfish to make those small sacrafices for everyone else and society at large.

Absolutely a sound approach, but we will still wait till next year. I'm a chemist, pharmacist and pharmacologist- I do believe something will happen before next season. I'm seeing lots of energy from big pharma being directed toward this and I believe they will succeed. Look at the recent Pfizer results in the news. Remdesivir. Decadron. Things are breaking positive.

Couple of questions for anyone that knows anything about construction, as I know next to nothing...

What is the temporary purple siding immediately next to the staircase for and why has it been left like that for so long? I would assume getting that siding done would be a relatively easy task, although I don't know much, so I'm curious as to why they don't just finish it.

Why are they waiting to put the glass windows into the press box? My only guess is that there is still a lot of work left to be done on the interior that would make working conditions unnecessarily poor/uncomfortable if they closed it all up.

the work is rocking at the press box. Windows being installed. :D

We'll probably have a beautiful stadium with nothing going on come September.

I check the cameras every morning every day. always interesting to view.

Some windows are in (on the street side) but the delivery through the press box window is drywall. Two huge flatbeds both loaded with drywall delivering all morning and all being delivered to press box. I can't imagine all that drywall is needed in the press box. Did you see windows being delivered earlier? I hope you did.

Also, major deliveries to the roof. Hard to tell what is being delivered but I think it might be the finish siding panels. Exciting day at the Tub.

At any rate it's good to get back on the thread topic.

Monday 7/27

There was a good sized crew that worked on Saturday. They delivered the glass for the front of the press box. It looks like they plan on installing it today. Two large Singer Company trucks are delivering kitchen equipment today. Scaffolding is in place on the roof in preparation of starting install of siding panels. At least these are my observations.
