It was always worth being under the stands when the band went by. Great tradition. Traditions are good.

Looks great. Looks like plenty of space to continue the band marching under the stadium playing the fight song. Look forward to hearing that again this fall or sometime soon.

Agree Ron. Did you ever see the Band march down the Atlantic City Boardwalk before the old Boardwalk bowls playing the Fight Song? Got chills.

Has anyone heard if recruits (football, basketball or other sports) have made comments on the Whitney Center? I firmly believe relationships are one of the key aspects of recruiting but facilities can be a big plus as well.

Shiny toys are great but they do not guarantee success. I use Nebraska as an example. Had a chance to see some of their facilities when I was in Lincoln for work. Their basketball training facility is amazing...one of th ebest in the country but Nebraska has been to the dance once in the last 20 years....which is pretty bad for a conf that typically gets at least 4 bids.

Just come prepared - ear plugs, muffs, whatever needed. Or go under the East stands and play. I can adapt and walk over there to hear and see them play the fight song.

When we get recruits on campus the athletic facilities and the campus make a really nice impression. However, a few back to back playoff runs are ever so important.

Dave,

I find it ironic you reference Nebraska. I consider UD the Nebraska of 1AA, had it in football for decades, now they just can't seem to get it back. :(

U of Nebraska and U of Delaware are roughly the same size...Nebraska has a slightly larger student population by about 2k. Same endowment....one small(or very large) difference. Big 10 vs CAA. Nebraska has an athletic budget around $142mil, about $100 mil larger than Delaware. Conference makes the team.

As I said, we are the 1AA version. There's a difference between the Big 10 and the CAA? Wow, learn something everyday.

I wasn't posting that to "educate" you Pat...I know you know this stuff. Delaware IMO fits the profile of a Big10, American or ACC school, not an Elon, Lafayette, Rider, Loyola, etc.

Do you remember the Band Director (I think his name was King) who had the band doing the quick step entering and leaving the field? That was pretty cool. I also remember the band being more involved in the action before we used so much piped in noise.
